Deleting options

2014-10-04 Thread David Eagle
Hi folks, I'm really getting the hang of ProTools, thanks to the excellent
ProTools with Speech tutorials from Matt and Rob.

I'm just wondering how to delete so that there isn't a gap in the audio.
Basically, I want to delete and move the audio to the left, rather than there
being a big gap where the deleted audio used to be.

Thanks.

Hi David,

Shuffle mode is what you want for that. Press f1 for Shuffle mode. You should
look at the other three modes and what they do in more detail in the manuals.
The two that you will use most often are shuffle and slip which, bTW, is f2.

HTH,

Slau

Hi Krister,

I understand your feelings about the blindness perspective, of course. A little
later today I'll take the time to write a full explanation of the editing
modes. I've never really done that on the list and, in the interest of not
reinventing the wheel, hopefully you and a few others will soak in the
explanation and, the next time it comes up, more folks will be able to
contribute with explanations of the edit modes.

I'll post that soon but, for now, lunch awaits :)

Hi, I looked up editing modes in the reference manual, and i have to say i
didn't get my head around those modes. Right now i'm using grid mode only
though this maybe somewhat limiting. I also used the Protools with speech
tutorial to get me up and running, and i must say they're great, however i
wish that they would cover the different modes because sometimes it's better
if you get it from a blindness perspective. I'm not dissing the reference
manuals in any way, but they are sorta geared towards sighted folks. That's
only my two cents, sorry for the rant.:-)

Hi and thanks so much for that. I'm going in to the editing stages of my song
