Hi Frank Slau,

Hit control delete this will delete ALL automation for that track.
This works almost all the time for me! LOL

YMMV

Frank,

Theoretically, you're following the right concept. Did you scrub in
the track before deleting? Is it the only track that's selected? Did
you press Return then Shift-Option-return to select everything?

Hi

Vinny and I were talking about deleting automation this evening. I
have a pass on volume automation that I want to delete so I
selected volume on the track view selector in the edit window.
Then I believe to have selected the whole session then I hit
delete. Doesn't seem to work. The track that I have selected
still wants to follow the automation. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Chuck,

Be more specific. Do you mean Control-Delete after the steps I described or
Control-Delete anywhere in the track? Control-Delete while Volume is showing or
does Waveform view work as well? Did you see this somewhere in the
documentation? If so, please indicate where. Does one have to stand on one leg
while holding an XLR cable in the left hand while whistling La Boheme?

Sometimes I'm convinced that is what is required to get the Mac to do some
things. LOL
Kind of like doing a restore to a time machine backup point.
I broke Pro Tools and had to do just that to get things back.
Well, actually, Dropbox was in the mix as well. LOL

Re: automation deletion

2011-02-21 Thread Frank Carmickle
Hi

So I think that, possibly, the problem is that I am not scrubbing in that
track. I just hear track 1. How do I change this? I can't seem to find it in
the manual.

Thanks

Chuck, I think the Control modifier will perform the action on underlying
automation but that's a pretty specific function if all one want's to do is
eliminate, say, pan automation and not volume automation. Delete alone works
 just fine.

 My mileage does vary,

 Hi Slau,
Yes after the steps you said.
Just make sure volume is checked in the automation window and that audio
 tracks volume is showing .
This control delete is a key command i think?
If I recall control delete wipes out all automation for that track.
By the way if it is a master fader track and is being very naughty in the
deletion process! just delete the master fader track and re do it! LOL
I have had to do this before while holding a DB25 in my left hand!

 YMMV
