Hello all.

I have a kvm virtualized pfsense 2.2.4 amd64 on Proxmox 3.3-1 with virtio
bus disk and virtio network devices.
In pfsense settings, I have two limiters 1 MB each, to limit up and down
LAN respectively.
My speed tests not work properly. After changing network devices viritio to
Intel e1000, the limiters are working properly.
Someone had this problem?

Thank you

Is there some kind of priority for such operations? Is there anything
 else I can try?

scp uses ssh to copy files which means the traffic is encrypted. To
speed up the transfer you could choose a weak cipher like arcfour. scp -c
 arcfour src dest.

 Hi all,

I tried local to RBD storage migration with VM running, and it fails like
 it does with NFS:

transferred: 53687091200 bytes remaining: 0 bytes total: 53687091200
 bytes progression: 100.00 %
 Removing all snapshots: 100% complete...done.

 Removing image: 0% complete...failed.
rbd: error: image still has watchers
TASK ERROR: storage migration failed: mirroring error: VM 103 qmp command
'block-job-complete' failed - The active block job for device
 'drive-virtio0' cannot be completed

I noticed that during migration HTML5 console's key drop-down menu
doesn't work (VM doesn't receive keys).

[PVE-User] iSCSI mounting local directory

2014-09-26 Thread Luis G. Coralle
What disadvantages can bring the following configuration?

Datacenter- Storage- Add- iSCSI
Fill the fields ID, Portal, and remove the checkmark Target LUNs Directly
Use

At this point, I have a new Attached SCSI disk device (eg. /dev /sdg)

I create a file system on the new device, such as ext4
Then I mount the partition to a local directory:
mount /dev/sdg1 /mnt/iscsi-test/

Then I assign the mount point as storage in the web interface
Datacenter- Storage- Add- Directory
Fill the fields ID, Directory, Content

I can then use that to host normally imagnes Storage, iso, backups, etc.

[PVE-User] lvm storage

2014-08-06 Thread Luis G. Coralle
Hi there,

If I add a second physical disk lvm2 to a PVE node, which is more
convenient:

1. Mount it from the web interface Datacenter- Storage- Add- LVM.
2. Mount it with the mount command and then from the web interface to mount
that directory

What I noticed is that if I choose option 1 only Raw disk image (raw)
option appears as a disk format on creating a new VM. Is that correct?

[PVE-User] Backup in snapshot mode with running sortware

I have a question regarding backups.
Assuming a traditional installation of 3.2 pve a linux vm with qcow2, saved

Assuming I have mysql running on the VM with a large DB. What happens when
a backup is made in snapshot mode of the vm?
When the backup is restored, the DB is in a consistent state?

[PVE-User] Content listing

Hi, I have a 3 node cluster proxmox ve 3.0
I had to maintain the node 1, so I moved the VM to nodes 2 and 3. Then
I installed a new node 1, I returned the VM that had moved to the
other nodes.
So far so good, but in the content list of storage local ( and other
) is empty, but the physical location (/var/lib/vz ) has that Images.
What can be happening? The new node 1 I called like the old node 1.
Thanks

[PVE-User] Cloning vm

2013-09-10 Thread Luis G. Coralle
Hi all, I'm using Proxmox 3.0-20 as cluster with 2 nodes, pve1 and pve2. It
has only local storage, local(pve1) and local(pve2)

1. I create a VM, vm1-test on pve1 node.
2. I clone vm1-test from pve1 node to pve2 node named vm2-test

When clone process ends successfully, the configurations of vm2-test are on
pve2 node, but hard disc are on pve1 node. Is it ok? It should be the disc
of new clonded VM on node2? The only solution is moving the hard disk of
new VM by hand?

Thanks
