[Python-modules-team] Bug#884686: python-cloudpickle: missing depepdency on the python interpreter

2017-12-18 Thread mattia
Package: python-cloudpickle
Version: 0.5.2-1
Severity: serious

Dear maintainer,

python-cloudpickle is a Python package but lacks any dependency, including
one on the Python interpreter itself.

Most of the times this is due to using the wrong substvar, for instance
using ${python3:Depends} on a python2 package (or the reverse,
${python:Depends on a python3 package).

That's totally ok! Interest shifts, so it's ok to say stop at something
:)

You can just remove yourself. Just do it in the git repository of the
package, that way whoever in the team will do the next upload will have
the change staged.
It's also quite unluckily that somebody will remember such a mail
already next week, much less in some months.

A person usually just remove himself from the Uploaders field, from my
experience.

[Python-modules-team] Bug#827565: dill: please drop dependency on python-ctypeslib

2016-06-17 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Source: dill
Version: 0.2.5-1
Severity: serious

python-ctypeslib is scheduled for removal https://bugs.debian.org/827560

Please try to remove the dependencies on python-ctypeslib. I can't find
out *why* such dependency is needed at all, because the library imports
ctypes from the stdlib, and I see no references to the 2 scripts the
python-ctypelibs package ships in /use/bin (that would be the only
reason for a python3 library package to depend on a python2 package).

Main problem being that your packages already looked neglecteed at the
start of the 2014, and after several attempts at contacting you only
one went through, but without any useful content nor follow-up.
The last-warning mail was sent out on 2014-09-17.

If you are still interested in contributing to Debian the missing key in
the archive must not be a blocker!
The sponsorship process works very smoothly, and I'm sure you can easily
find several DDs willing to help you get your packages in a good state.
Please, if you come back close my bugs (you have been CC'ed on all of
them).

Ok, so I've uploaded an actual NMU, targeting this specific issue, then
let's see...

Well, that's not really just DPMT standards, I'd say it's usual Debian
standards :D (or at least, what we try for...)

Given that is in a so bad condition, and have a really really low
popcon, maybe consider to remove it from the archive?

This has already be done by the maintainer in git/svn.

Dear Michael,
what's the current status of this package?
It would be nice to have it uploaded.

Source: sorl-thumbnail
Version: 12.2-1
Severity: important
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org

Dear maintainer,

Your package fails to build from source if locale-all is installed instead of
locales.
locale-all actually satisfy the build-dependecy on locales since it
Provides:locales, even if it does not provide all the files the real locales
packages has.

This is also a bug in locale-all, that is tracked in #788352, but we also asked
the affected packages to Build-Conflicts on locale-all, please follow that bug
too see other examples.

Thanks for maintaining sorl-thumbnail!

[Python-modules-team] Bug#774903: Please add a python3 packge (and run tests at build-time)

2015-01-08 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Source: python-git
Version: 0.3.2~RC1-3
Severity: wishlist

according to https://github.com/gitpython-developers/GitPython python-git
supports python3, so a python3-git package should be provided.

While investingating I saw you don't use pybuild, and thus (well, there is no
implication here, but still) you do not run tests at build time.

I suggest you to switch to pybuild, and while there add a python3-git package
that is seamlessly to do with pybuild.
