Re: QA tasks

2012-12-06 Thread Xue Fei Duan
Hi Luis,
It's a good way to start QA work from confirming new defect or verifing a
resolved defect. Thanks for your contribution, could you try if you have
edit privilege in bugzillia now?
answer your question about unconfirmed or confirmed
When a user open a defect - the status is unconfirmed
If you can reproduce this defect, you can change the status from
'unconfirmed' to 'confirmed' then developer can investigate this defect.
Thanks

hello, the weekend started working in QA, and I understood the process
largely, although if I ask some questions pudiran help that came my way. so
far I've been playing some reports and I send a comment or response to
users who publish reports. for now is all I've been doing since I have no
privileges to change the status of a bug.

is correct the way I'm working for now?. reproduce the error checking that
is a bug and not OO user and send a comment or response?

Another issue I stand. as changed status is only requested information.
since I have no privileges, rather what are the differences between status?
 as confirmed and unconfirmed etc.

now observe that in trying to reproduce the bug and are giving me the
option to change the status if not already are giving me permission?

 I hope I can help

Re: Defect reports that are really feature requests

Then if it's a valid enhancement or useful feature and if we have plan
develop it, how can we track it? Could we change the report type from
defect to enhancement?

So we are consistent with this, what is the recommended action? What
do we do when we receive a defect report that is not a defect but is a
request for enhancement, or a request for a new feature?

I've been marking them as Resolved/Invalid and adding a comment that
says they are not a bug.

Is this correct? Or is there a better way to process these?

just bought a new system with Windows 8 preloaded and am slowly getting
more acquainted with it. I intend(ed) to download Apache Open Office but
responded to the request for volunteers first. I have never blogged, I
guess, though I came close when taking an online/in classroom combined
course recently. Looking forward to the experience of testing OO 4.0

I admit I have not volunteered my time for any open source development
