No concatenated labels, I can live with that. Equal Interval graduated styling 
is too muc of a compromise for me. You see that the result is far less 
interesting. Logaritmic styling is essential here.

Aggiornamento: anche i miei studenti che usano i programmi antivirus Avast e 
Bitdefender non possono installare la versione QGIS 2.18 (il file qgis-bin.exe 
è identificato come malware). Per il momento non ci sono problemi con la 2.19 
:-)

Prova effettuato su OSGeo4W 64 bit  QGIS 2.18, confermo anomalia!!!

stessa prova effettuata su 2.14.8 e confermo anomalia!!!

ecco il ticket aperto con allegato lo "shape corrotto"

Nel caso di spazialite, mi ha alterato la geometria aggiungendo una parte,
non permettendomi di salvare MA salvando lo stesso la multiparte nascosta,
che se si prova ad eliminare, elimina tutta la geometria di partenza.

[Qgis-user] Creating subpolygons from two shapefile layers

The image shows two shapefiles each containing several polygons - one
shapefile is outlined in thin black lines, the other in thick pink.

I'm trying to use Geoprocessing tools to create a new shapefile which
contains a new polygon for everytime a polygon of one layer intersects one
of the other, so I want the new shapefile to contain polygons as shown in
the second image:


 

I've tried combinations of Intersect and Union and Clip but none of these
seem to produce the result I want. Very grateful if anyone can offer advice.

[Qgis-user] Layer style: Graduated classification not working (2.18)

Worked fine for QGIS 2.16 but not 2.18: Can't do "graduated"
classification for the style as per the tutorial (http://docs.qgis.org/
testing/en/docs/training_manual/vector_classification/classification.ht
ml#moderate-fa-ratio-classification)

When I pick "graduated", it won't let me pick any field apart
from OGC_FID.  When I use the expression editor to chose another field,
it reverts to blank field once I press OK in the expression dialogue.
 I've tried this with my modified landuse.sqlite file (with new 'area'
field as per tutorial) and with a fresh copy.

Have I done something wrong or is this a fresh bug for 2.18?

si,la funzione 'get_feature' richiama la prima feature del layer.
Ma con un semplice trucco è possibile calcolare anche le distanze riferite a
M tronchi di un grafo stradale:
per esempio creando un virtual layer dove unire tutti i tronchi e
richiamarlo con la funzione get_feature.

Scratch that last comment, I accidentally didn't have my test feature
classes set to a projected coordinate system. Need to work with this a bit
but I still see no way to add a point based on the distance from 2 other
points. Will need to go to the documentation at some point today.

[Qgis-user] Error when adding new field to GeoPackage

I get an error when saving edits after adding a new column to an existing 
GeoPackage table (see the ticket: http://hub.qgis.org/issues/15614). This 
happens for most of the available field types, but text columns seem to work 
OK. I can add columns using ogrinfo but it would be nice to be able to do that 
directly in QGIS.

core package?
They offer a lot of handy tools for adding new vertices at certain
distances/angles from existing vertices.

[Qgis-user] Geometry Generator Buffer with Flat Caps

Hi all,

I would like to style a line geometry with geometry generated symbol buffer 
with flat caps. Means that I would like to get a box around the line that ends 
where the line ends. Buffer($geometry) always creates buffer with round caps.

Meanwhile I solved it with st_buffer(the_geom,1,'endcap=flat') in 
PostGIS-request, but it would be more convenient to style it with geometry 
generated symbols

Someone using qgis2web has experienced the following error:

QgsCsException: forward transform of
(-18933215.197392, -925.351822)
PROJ.4: +proj=moll +lon_0=0 +x_0=0 +y_0=0 +datum=WGS84 +units=m +no_defs
+ellps=WGS84 +towgs84=0,0,0 +to +proj=longlat +datum=WGS84 +no_defs
+ellps=WGS84 +towgs84=0,0,0
Error: acos/asin: |arg| >1.+1e-14

What causes the error? The QGIS project is in EPSG:54009, and either export
to 3857 or to 54009 gives the error above.

Relativamente a QGIS 2.14 LTR, in Processing, nelle funzioni di GRASS 7,
v.distance proprio non c'è (c'è un v.net.distance, ma fa altre cose).
Sempre relativamente a QGIS 2.14 LTR, operando con il plugin di GRASS (e
non può che essere GRASS 7, visto che nel mio PC c'è installato solo questa
versione) v.distance invece compare e fa il suo dovere.
Nella precedente versione LTR di QGIS, la 2.8 LTR, in Processing si
caricava di default la versione 6.4 di GRASS e in quel caso v.distance
c'era e funzionava.
Le funzioni di GRASS 6 disponibili ora per Processing di QGIS 2.14 LTR non
le conosco perchè non ho installato GRASS 6 sul mio PC e quindi non posso
applicarlo a Processing.
Concludendo non credo sia un bug ma solo una "limitazione" e sono certo che
se nelle funzioni di GRASS 7 disponibili in Processing di QGIS 2.14 LTR
comparisse anche v.distance, questo funzionerebbe senza problemi (visto
che, ...stessa versione di QGIS, stessa macchina, stesso GRASS 7 caricato
sul PC, stesso tutto, ...se lancio v.distance dal plugin GRASS di QGIS,
questo funziona tranquillamente).

Mi permetto di contraddirti: v.distance fa invece un'altra cosa,
precisamente confronta una shape puntuale con una lineare, e trova l'UNICO
punto e l'UNICA distanza più vicini fra i due layer.

Totò ha dimostrato che è possibile calcolare TUTTE le minime distanze di
TUTTI i punti rispetto alla linea.

Finora questo risultato l'ottenevo infittendo i nodi della shape lineare, e
calcolando la cosiddetta "Hub distance" col plugin MMQGIS, ma era comunque
un'approssimazione.

Avevo proposto la beatificazione di Don Turiddu già un anno fa, ma temo che
il Vaticano abbia procrastinato la faccenda a data da destinarsi...

1) si... il codice inoltre puo' essre scritto per essere
retrocompatibile a python2.7 - ci sono molti siti che documentano il
processo, in generale puo' nadatrti bene questo

2) si, gia' da tempo, anche se le api sono in ebollizione, sarebbe la master

3) non necessariamente, dipende molto dalla tua capacita d'ordine...
   3.1) in definitiva inizierei solo a fare il porting da 2 a 3 solo di python.
   3.2) farei un elenco delle api di qgis usate dal tuo plugin e le
monitorerei nel documento di porting:

Sorry, topological snapping not happening in either situation. 

My polygons are becoming very similar colours when I'm selecting one for 
editing, so it looks like topological stuff is happening.

quello che pensavo si iniziare a fare era ciò:

- installare python3

- prendere la doc per passare dal 2 al 3 e iniziare a testare cosa diventa
cosa e vedere se a livello di procedure cambia qualcosa: per esempio se
malauguratamente qualche chiamata passa a sputare fuori tuple al posto di
liste (ma spero di no), se i cicli sono cambiati nella sintassi e iniziare
almeno ad annidarli nel codice.

- mettere online cosa ho fatto. Ovviamente io scrivo in python come un
bimbo di 3 anni parla italiano;

- quando parli di gruppo, intendi che c'è una mailing list apposita oppure
la mailing list di sviluppo generica?

In sostanza il dare una mano sarà relativo alle procedure che conosco, e
spero/temo che essendo il pyarchinit costituito da una decina di migliaia
di righe (per lo più simili per fortuna) riuscirò a vedere varie procedure.


Quale può essere un iter corretto e pulito di procedere? Metterle sul mio
sito, fare un doc apposito condiviso, scrivere tutto sempre con dei
riferimenti nell'oggetto specifici tipo from python 2 to 3 in modo che
siano facilmente reperibili?

[Qgis-user] Snapping, vertex editor and islands

Hi,

I'm noticing that on my 2.18, if I have  "Enable topological editing" selected 
and use the really useful vertex editor  (thanks !) topology is honoured for 
adjacent polygons, but not islands in rings.

Is this expected behaviour?
Can anyone else see this?

Ciao,
grazie per sollevare la questione. Credo sia ancora molto preso: le API
non sono stabilizzate per ora, quindi se adatti il plugin ci sarà da
metterci le mani di nuovo.
Quello che è invece utile è collaborare con il gruppo di sviluppo nel
verificare e mettere a punto gli howto per rendere la cosa semplice a
tutti: ti va di dare una mano?
Non credo sarà molto difficile fare l'upgrade dei plugins; il problema
fondamentale è che sono tanti, e alcuni non sono mantenuti, quindi si
rischia di perderli. In aluni casi un po' di pulizia sarà un bene, in
altri no. Qualunque aiuto in questa direzione sarà benvenuto.
