But qml file is not corrupt and I can load it in QGIS with 2.6 and 2.8 release
(with 2.10 and 2.12 I can’t!)

Salut Pierre,
Never had that problem but the qml file is a text file. You can look at it
using notepad++ (or whatever text editor) and see if the file is corrupt...

[Qgis-user] Help with multiple selection for actions (Run Feature Tool)

2016-01-04 Thread h
Hi,
I keep thinking I'm a noobie, but perhaps have moved beyond in some
areas.
What I have done is added my own action in the action list for a vector
layer. The action passes a 'primary key' attribute to a local web
server which creates a custom report on the feature selected.
This all works, and was surprisingly easy to set up- thankyou.

What I now want to do is be able to select multiple features, have all
the 'primary key' attributes passed to the web server, allowing the
production of reports based the features select. I have a number of
things I'd like to try, but frequency diagrams is one example.

From reading the help I think the "Run Feature Tool" should work on a
collection of features, but I cannot figure out how to select the
features.

Some help and direction would be greatly appreciated.

(I am running "master" on the latest opensuse x86_64)

QConsolidate plugin is marked  as experimental, so you have to check the
checkbox that says show also experimental plugins in the settings of the
plugin installer in order to see and install the plugin.

[Qgis-user] QGIS 2.12: "Add Circular String" to PostGIS

2016-01-04 Thread Ricardo Pinho
Hi,
On the excellent 2.12 new feature: "Add circular string" (thanks
sourcepole) is stated that: "Note again that you need to be using a data
provider (e.g. PostGIS, GML or WFS) that supports curves."
http://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/visualchangelog212/#digitising

But I can only use it with PostGIS 2.1 geometry type: "COMPOUNDCURVE", that
doesn't accept lines (Linestring).

I've tried it with MULTICURVE but QGIS returns a commit error: "PostGIS
error while adding features: ERROR: Geometry type (CompoundCurve) does not
match column type (MultiCurve)"

Is it possible to use the "Add Circular String" QGIS 2.12 feature on a
PostGIS 2.1 geom table that stores line and curve features?

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

1. If this is about Geoserver, please ask on the Geoserver mailing list
http://geoserver.org/comm/
2. You need a Domain/Domain Name Server/Service (DNS) so that a url
points to your computer from the web (complicated if you don't have a
static ip for your computer, or your internet provide prevents hosting
on personal accounts). This is a general topic with lots of examples on
the internet to learn from. The basics are you pay for a domain, and
tell it the ip of your machine.

Enjoy,
Alex

Re: [Qgis-user] 1928-1930 USGS maps (Nicolas Cadieux)

2016-01-04 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
I looked at your files. The borderless map are 8 byte file but they are
Boolean value files 0 and 1 only (black and white file. No gray scale).
In this case, 0 = data and 1 = no data??? (use the value plugin to see
this). So if you set your 1 values to no data (layer
properties/transparency/additional no data value), and set your layer
style from black to white (and not the default white to black) you will
see that your data is well georeferenced. (use an open layer layer like
osm or Google map as background.)

The files with borders (honolulu1928.tif) are Eight bit unsigned integer
but they are on a gray scale so the vary between 0 and 255. If you
look at the geotagg, (raster/miscellaneous/info (see below) that the
file has some georeferencing info like the crs but the coordinate are
wrong (Corner Coordinates:
Upper Left (0.0,0.0)). So if you turn on the "CRS on the fly"
and then zoom to the layer extent, you will see the map in the sea.
It's not that the map does not appear... it's that it is in the wrong spot.

I also see this tag (TIFFTAG_SOFTWARE=Adobe Photoshop CS Windows). It is
possible that Photoshp was used in the past and that it striped away the
coordinates. Since you have the coordinates on the map, you can use the
gdal georeferencing plugin to place the map in the correct spot.
Good luck

Nicolas

[Qgis-user] Problem using DIFFERENCE

2016-01-04 Thread Susan Iremonger
Hi I am having trouble erasing part of a file by using another file as a
mask and the tool Difference. I have a habitat map and I want to erase the
part of the habitat map that is within a conservation area. So I have two
shapefiles, one of habitats polygons and the other of conservation area
polygons. I have tried using Difference, but it doesn't work, it has left
me with the same data as the input file. Does anyone know of a fix for this
that might work? I have tried doing this a different way, using Select etc,
but I can't seem to do it. Any help much appreciated.
Many thanks.

Re: [Qgis-user] 1928-1930 USGS maps (Nicolas Cadieux)

2016-01-04 Thread Jan Becket
Yes, the min/max values are between 0 and 1. This is strange, because when I
open the file in Photoshop (and then exit without saving), it is an 8-bit
grayscale. I actually have two sets of 1928-30 USGS geotiffs for the island of
Oahu. The set I was able to mount contains 16 geotiff files for each of the 16
quads that are 4-5 mb in size. The other set contains 16 geotiff files that are
about 125 mb each, and clearly grayscale. These USGS quads, however, have
collars and are less desirable for that reason. In any case, they are not
visible when I attempt to import / mount them. In case anyone has a suggestion,
I have placed the Honolulu quad for both sets of maps in this dropbox folder:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/te9et5yuery207d/AAAYnBBkBzUod53RauD7ArTda?dl=0

As far as I can tell, the CRS for both sets of maps is Old Hawaiian. I think I
mentioned earlier that I am reprojecting to CRS 3711: NAD 83, UTM zone 4N.

Thanks, as always, for suggestions -
Jan
