"Unable to unzip file ''" is displayed and the
project does not open.

Hi Thomas,
AFAIK the error message is displayed when the zip_open function of the
libzip library, used by QGIS, fails to open the .qgz project file.

Are there other related error messages in the Log Messages panel?

Since you think the issue may be related to the recent OSGeo4W packages
update, have you tried to downgrade the libzip library using the OSGeo4W
Setup program to the previous version?

Best regards.

Ciao Salvatore,
ho fatto una semplice prova usando QGIS 3.34.6 su Windows 10 con un
memory layer in EPSG:32633, ho usato l'espressione $area per
l'ordinamento e mi pare che i record siano stati ordinati correttamente.

[QGIS-it-user] ordinamento righe tabella attributi

Re: [Qgis-user] gridding with a polygon

2024-05-02 Thread Kirk Schmidt via QGIS-User

Hi Byron:

If I understand this correctly, you are concerned with how the contours
will be generated at the edge of your raster data.  If I have this
correct, I would grid the data that you have based on the attribute you
want to contour.

Create a vector clip layer for your study area that is at least 1 grid
cell smaller than the the boundary size of the original vector data.

Then create the contours from this new raster and you should be good to go.

contour such that these data are truncated against the polygon and do
not extend beyond?

[Qgis-user] QGIS 3.34 and QGZ on network drives

2024-05-02 Thread Thomas Schüttenberg via QGIS-User
Hello everyone,

I am currently preparing the rollout of QGIS 3.34.6 for our administration and
have encountered a strange and very inconsistent behaviour when opening project
files from our network drives (Windows):

When double-clicking on such a project tile on the welcome page, the error
message.
"Unable to unzip file ''" is displayed and the
project does not open.

If you try it via the selection in the menu 'Project - Open recent' you get the
same result.

If you use 'Open project' (Ctrl+O) to open the Windows File Explorer and select
the QGZ in question, it works.

If you close the project and then click again on its 'Recent projects' entry on
the welcome page or in the 'Recently used' menu, this also works now.

However, if you wait a while (approx. 1-2 minutes) before clicking on a recent
link, it does not work any more!
The time can also elapse while the project is open, i.e. closing the project
and then clicking on the recent link does not work (any more).

First I thought, that saving or re-saving a QGZ with QGIS 3.34 would solve the
problem, but today I encounter the same phenomenon on 3.34-QGZs, which I saved
a few days ago.

Furthermore, if the link to a project on the welcome page does not work and I
then touch (i.e. single click) this qgz-file via the Windows file explorer, the
recent link in QGIS works afterwards.

User profiles or age or version of the QGZ do not seem to play a role. All of
this cannot be reproduced with QGIS 3.28 using the same project-files.

So, there seems to be a strange interference between QGIS 3.34 and the access
to our network drives, which could become quite a blocker for our rollout. Only
local QGZ are not affected.
What do you think, has anyone heard of similar phenomena? I am grateful for any
ideas!

Best regards
Thomas

QGIS Grant Voting - 2024
Please use the form below to select your preferred proposals for the

The total available grant budget is 30,000 EUR.

All proposals that were submitted this year have been reviewed
concerning their fit to the grant programme requirements. To be
eligible, proposals have to focus on improving the QGIS project
infrastructure or on polishing existing features and they have to be
submitted by established contributors. (This means that proposal for new
features or by new contributors are not eligible for a grant and
therefore are not included in this vote.)
