[ql-users] Q60 and Text87
When I bought a Q60 a couple of years ago, Text87 would not run under SMSQ. It worked under QDOS on the Q60 and under SMSQ on the Q40, but the combination Q60+SMSQ+Text87 was impossible. The question is, did anyone ever solve that problem, say with the newer versions of SMSQ? Someone offered to buy my Q60 the other day, but I warned him off when I discovered he needed Text87. Was I keeping him from making the same mistake I did, or missing a chance to get shot of the the most expensive door-stop I ever bought? ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

DATE - SMSQ/E compatibility toolkits for QDOS and Minerva Ah, somebody who puts his money where his mouth is, I like that! :-) Thanks. More mouth than money, I guess ;o) In the end I decided to nick and package the code from the Minerva sources instead of extracting and tidying up my own code, some of which originally came from Qdos, as Im uncertain about the status of the Qdos disassembly... Pity its not possible to update the system keywords in Qdos prior to JS. There must be some way of doing this though, as I believe TK2 updates the CALL command. Does anyone know a way around this? PS: I discovered a bug in my source code for the DATE function. Anyone who extracted this before now should reload the date.htm page. The toolkit is not affected. Jochen described the patch in the news pages in Volume 8 Issue 5 page 5 (Jan/Feb 2004 issue). I think it's also described on Marcel's website. Now, if you had the SBASIC/SuperBASIC Reference Manual, you would be able to find out this weird and wonderful information (ok enough of the plug). Can I suggest that since this week sees the next issue of Quanta Magazine being put together, this sort of thing would fit very nicely into the Quanta News column of the Magazine.
