Although local, I wasn't able to attend the AGM; I'm surprised that there hasn't been a word about it here. Did it actually happen? Bryan H ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Yes it did, there were a number of pictures posted on the forum with brief details. Number 6 is not a proper resolution as you cannot vote for a generalisation. It is ambiguous. It must be a properly defined motion, eg Increase Membership Fees to £20 Whatever is proposed you must be able to say Ay or Nay to it. Number 7 is also ambiguous. If you wish to replace the constitution then the vote must be for a specific change. Each article in the new constitution must be voted on separately. There is no need to change the whole constitution, proposals need to be made that will change specific articles. These proposals must then be put to the members who will then accept or reject them. The very idea that the constitution needs to be altered has not been thought through. The committee would do well to use this board to find out just what changes are required, or are acceptable. Dinner 7.30 for 8.00pm Sunday 10.00 am - AGM time TBA A reminder to all Quanta members If you do not attend the AGM, who will hear your opinions?? I am sorry to say myself, Diana and Arnold Clarke cannot attend, the journey and cost was to much. The Tulip Inn only delivered their brochure today which we had asked for weeks ago. It revealed (to late) that they have weekend breaks for 45 pounds per night rather than the advertised 70 pounds price. Central Trains, who my past experience has found to be the worst railway operator in East Anglia, had short trains, this meant no cheap seats. At the AGM could someone raise the point about the thinness of Quanta magazine, however I do support the magazine. Hope you all have a lovely time, do not forget to see the reconstruction of the SSEM (the first real computer) at the Manchester Museum of Science Industry, I am envious. -- Tarquin Mills ACCUS (Anglia Classic Computer Users Society) http://www.speccyverse.me.uk/comp/accus/ ___ QL-Users Mailing List
