Hi I just tried to add a forward in qmailadmin 1.0.6 and I got this message back: Alias for Email Account added successfully forward webmaster [EMAIL PROTECTED] Great! Except it wasnt on the list of aliases and forwards. QmailAdmin should have told me that Im stupid trying to add a forward that already exists as a Mail Robot. Not sure it this is an issue or not I just found it a little strange that it said it was added when it wasnt. /usk -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is believed to be clean.
[qmailadmin] limit size of mails ?
Is it possible to set a maximum size of accepted mails for a specific account? Like adding an account that only accepts mails smaller than 2048Kb and bounce everything else with a mail too big message. There is the databytes in /var/qmail/control but that will limit all mails send to all accounts on the server.

[qmailadmin] disturbing
some time ago I reinstalled my mail server and before I did that I took a copy of /var/qmail for backup. Then yesterday I was searching for something and wondered what was in a file called A19013.1053705155 in the webmaster account folder (it's a mail robot). I guessed that it is the file holding the address to where the robot should forward any resived mails, but to my surprise the address inside was [EMAIL PROTECTED] ?!?!?! I checked the same file in my current /var/qmail and the address in there was the right one, so right now everything is as it should be but how did [EMAIL PROTECTED] get in that file? ls -l of the backup -rw---1 vpopmail vchkpw 21 May 23 2003 A19013.1053705155 -rw---1 vpopmail vchkpw154 Apr 8 2003 message ls -l of the current -rw---1 vpopmail vchkpw 23 Mar 8 23:33 A20362.1078785226 -rw---1 vpopmail vchkpw154 Apr 8 2003 message Note that in the current the A20362.1078785226 file was modified Mar 8 this year, and I didn't do that ? in lastlog I can see that it only is me and root (also me)that have logged into this server, on one else have ever logged in. Is there a security problem in qmailadmin? Does qmail admin have a log (that I can't find) so I can see when changes ware done by who? Any suggestions to how I can trace how this was done? The biggest question is why would anybody redirect mails to my webmaster account to Microsoft? brgds Ulrik
Re: [qmailadmin] disturbing PLEASE disregard
I just found that the file just holds the last address from where a mail was resived. I just panicked because I saw microsoft I guess ;) sorry
Re: [qmailadmin] Howto report utilization free space ?
below does give a total for each user? wasn't that what you wanted? you would ofcause need to change the path to where your domains are located. if you replace the last * with 'postmaster' you will get a total for the postmaster account on all the domains you have (just an example). you can add this to a cron job running once a day, directing the output to a file and there you have your report. [qmailadmin] stupid virus or something
Something is sending mails to people typically with a doc.zip file attached and the problem is that they have put a fake address, on one of my domains, in Return-path: so I get a lot of unable to deliver messages. example: Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from [212.143.244.66] (helo=cybersite.dk) by mx03.stofanet.dk with esmtp (Exim 4.22) id 1AnXwt-0005jg-0L for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Mon, 02 Feb 2004 07:52:47 +0100 [EMAIL PROTECTED] does not exist and that IP is not my mail server! can I do anything to stop this ?! brgds USK ps. hope this isn't too much off topic

RE: [qmailadmin] QmailAdmin 1.2.0 (final) released as stable
Well i tried it all. 1. With the same steps as always I get the errors as stated above. 2. With the suggestions from Ulrik S. Kofod I have succes! 3. With the suggestion from Tom to touch all I have succes! 4. With the suggestion from Tom to only touch Makefile.in I have succes! 5. With the same steps as always after i tried everything above I get the same result as step 1 (as expected off course, just to be on the safe side) Hope to have helped you a little as well. Just for the record I don't recall suggesting anything, just stated that I got the same error messages :) But I'll try the above and see if that solves the problem on Trustix too. regards Ulrik

Re: [qmailadmin] missing options
just a guess but check your vqadmin :) not so long ago I upgraded to the most recent version of qmailadmin and vqadmin. when I created my first domain I also ware missing a lot of options in qmailadmin. after looking at the qmailadmin installation for a while I found that the default values in vqadmin had been changed, so nearly everything is disabled by deafult, aliases, mail list and so on. I then enabled them in vqadmin and all the options that ware missing appeared as they should in qmailadmin. /usk zynkx sagde: hi tom, and once again thank you for your time :] actually i am running plain ezmlm! that's a fact! but it is *lots* of options! *lots* of options i am missing !!!:] i am going to do some search on ezmlm-idx, to see what it is and to establish the difference between those two so i can understand why it happens! thanks a lot tom Cópia Tom Collins [EMAIL PROTECTED]: On Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 11:41 AM, zynkx wrote: i went through the qmailadmin test page at inter7.com, and noticed that in the mailing list part, i am missing lots of options. i only have available the archived, not archived, respond to and Allow only digest creation, remote administration options. Eero Volotinen sagde: Install new system on other machine. Dump mysql data from machine and import to other machine, also move /home/vpopmail/domains to new machine. (remember to keep permission + ower group) That was exactly what I already did do, except I used dump/restore instead of tar. What I didn't know and just found out by trying, is that I had to go and add the domains one by one in vqadmin (isn't there and easier way?), and then all the accounts poped up and worked as they should. Seems that I have a problem with the mail lists in qmailadmin, after the move, I can't add new lists and existing lists look very strange in qmailadmin when I choose Show Subscribers, and if I click a link on that strange page I get this error: Error. Domain was not found in the assign file it is the same problem with list stored in mysql and non-mysql lists. any hints ? brgds /usk
Re: [qmailadmin] Ammount of Virus Spam on this list ?
My mail server bounces email with executable attachments (qmail-smtpd-viruscan-1.0.patch) and I recently recived a mail from this mail-list bot that 6 mails had bounced with .pif attachments. So, fwiw, it must be coming from elsewhere. Mike Could the admin of the list perhaps have a look at the common used addresses and perhaps remove them from the list ? Perhaps with the expertise on the list the incoming mail server could be configured to drop / bounce virus mail ? not a complaint just trying to be pro-active in cleaning this up. Thanks, Matt.
Re: [qmailadmin] Why support imap?
Horde/imp webmail supports pop3, but the mails are still kept on the server. Jeff Koch sagde: It seems that the qmail, vpopmail, qmailadmin people tend to recommend squirrelmail and sqwebmail.
