Anyone else installed squirreloutlook on their QMT machine? I have one

Maybe someone else can see it since I can't after starring for endless
hours now :).

There seem to be a couple of errors but when I look at the paths, they
seem fine so I'm unsure what the problem is.

PS: I've replaced squirrelmail with this for testing.

It looks like either the package is incomplete, or a permission issue.
Do those files physically exist? /usr/share/squirrelmail/config/themes?

[qmailtoaster] empf patch (Off Topic)

2007-11-18 Thread Natalio Gatti
I'm sending this mail to this list becouse it seems that a couple of
qToaster's have implemented the empf patch successfully.
Yesterday I test an installation of the empf patch provided by A M. I could
patch, build and install the new qmail-toaster rpm correctly.
I created a file named policy in /var/qmail/control
If the file is empty, everything is OK. I can send receive mail correctla,
and for evry mail I can see a log that says:

2007-11-17 05:47:15.505799500 policy_check: local [EMAIL PROTECTED] - local
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (UNAUTHENTICATED SENDER)
2007-11-17 05:47:15.505804500 policy_check: policy allows transmission

Whenever I put something in that file, all mail is denied. I try the most
simple policy (allow-all):

[EMAIL PROTECTED] cat /var/qmail/control/policy
test.com:LREI,

And all mail is rejected with the following log:
2007-11-18 06:00:35.245414500 policy_check: local [EMAIL PROTECTED] - local
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (UNAUTHENTICATED SENDER)
2007-11-18 06:00:35.245688500 policy_check: sender not authenticated

A M, or any of the others who have implemented the empf patch: Am I doing
something wrong? Is the policy incorrect?

Natalio.

Hi Jake :)

Seems I have too many machines going on all at once here eh. My project calls
for two machines, one that is multi domain and another which is just one
domain. That's why I've been asking so many questions as I seem to keep
getting stumped. It's terribly difficult to find information that matches the
problem most of the time.

Understandable. I run a dozen of the machines myself. Hard to keep
things straight sometimes.

Anyhow, you're right about this and I've tried various tests such as copying
the whole themes directory into the config directory and others which seem
broken. It's not making much sense. The paths seem to be mixed up in this
squirrelmail version.

I wish I could simply find a more useful and nicer looking skin that would
work with the actual version of squirrelmail. I've found a couple but don't
feel like they would be of much help for support.

Try putting squirrelmail in the /usr/share/squirrelmai, dir, and sym
link the whole thing to the other dir it's asking for. You may also try
making it writeable by the apache user.
I've installed the nutmail.com themes on some of my machines and didn't
have too many problems. Might be worth looking into. Sure, they're $35
each (you can buy a subscription that gives you all the skins and
updates for a year as well), but they look nice, IMHO.

Understandable. I run a dozen of the machines myself. Hard to keep things
 straight sometimes.

I very badly want to use open source as much as possible. Nothing worse in my
world than walking into a network and it's all shiver MS! On this project,
my own, I want to di it 100% MS free.

Try putting squirrelmail in the /usr/share/squirrelmai, dir, and sym link
the whole thing to the other dir it's asking for. You may also try making
it writeable by the apache user.

I've tried things like that also. When the path seemed to be /var/www/html for
example, I would just copy the entire directory there. But, I have to admit
that I forgot to change ownership to the web server. I'll give it one more
try.

I've installed the nutmail.com themes on some of my machines and didn't

I've emailed him but have not seen a reply. The price is fine, the problem is
that it's for 6 months of updates. Again, not a problem but it's not clear if
that means another full payment in 6 months if I needed an update because
squirrlemail made some changes for example. That would bring the price up to
some $60.00/year per server. It's just not clear what he wants or how often
squirrelmail changes so that I would need updates.
