[qmailtoaster] Qmail Control Files Problem

2008-08-05 Thread Anil Aliyan
Untitled DocumentHi All,

I have recently rebuilt the qmail toaster to disable some of the features of
chkuser after re-installing the rebult rpm file I ran config-fast to configure
default domain etc.
But since then is getting a . (dot) before may mail domain ( [EMAIL PROTECTED])
whenever i receive mail from system generated logwatch. Earlier it was not so
but since that day i am getting a (dot ) between @ and my domain name.

Can someone tell me why is it showing a . after @
I have cheched all the control files and all are correct as set by the
config-fast command.

Thanks Regards,

2008-08-05 Thread Toni Wijaya
Hi All,

I have report from Mailer-Daemon like this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
User and password not set, continuing without authentication.
66.80.60.33 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 592 [EMAIL PROTECTED] address is blacklisted
Giving up on 66.80.60.33

and my blacklist file only use: -r zen.spamhaus.org

what should I do?

It looks like you may have your hostname set incorrectly. Logwatch can
also be configured to use whatever email you want, so you may need to
check it's config file as well.

Lastly, check defaultdomain in the qmail control file.

You could try deleting those files and then running freshclam again.

If you're receiving that message when trying to send an email to

back. There isn't anything you can do.

Yes, it can be added.
It works in every qmail setup.
The only thing thats needed is to edit the command file.

And it also comes with the qtp package.

Good luck!

Try to use the submission port for sending; I guess, the different anti-spam

[qmailtoaster] Authentication to bypass spam checks

2008-08-05 Thread Luis Lopez

Hi All,

My first message to this mailing list. :-)

Problem:

One of my developers is complaining that is not possible for him to send
email from his house. I noticed that the range of IPs from his block has
been flagged as spam.

Q.
What's the correct procedure to have him authenticated and bypass the
spam mechanism?

I know that I probably configured QT wrong, lets see if I can get it
right this time.

Thanks in advance.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Authentication to bypass spam checks

2008-08-05 Thread Phil Leinhauser
Good news! You didn't configure QMT wrong. This is the way it should be.

You'll need him to use the submission port (587) on his client instead of 25.
He'll also need to use smtp auth. to send. In fact, you should make it
standard procedure now to have all of your clients submit on port 587 with SMTP
auth from now on. This will make it easier in the long run. You'll start
seeing more and more post offices going this way.

Phil

The backup script on my v2gnu.com site isn't up to date.  The up to date

You can modify the script to use the root user instead of the vpopmail
user.  It used to be that way, but many users asked to have it use
vpomail so that they did not have to have their mysql root password in
the script file and it was changed.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Issue upgrading Spamassassin

I have MakeMaker.pm version 6.44 revision 54639 on CentOS 5.2

I have the same exact error that person in the message I quoted is getting.

`/var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2': No
such file or directory

error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.37388 (%install)

The rpm build fails at the local.cf.bz2 file.

I tried doing a cpan bundle update and then loaded IO::Compress::Bzip2.
CPAN doesn't fail or load this as a dependency. If you don't watch the build
then you could easily miss the note on the screen about it missing. This
didn't help me either.

idea to verify that you're having the problem which the fix fixes. ;)
Please post the error you're getting, along with the version of your

This issue appears to be caused by a mismatch of a perl module between
the source and destination.

Eric Schubes has created a work around that I haven't had a chance to
validate on all the platforms yet, but once done I will release it.

Thanks,

Without seeing what is changed in the script, I cannot really say.
You may have a corrupted field in the dir_control table from what the
