Re: [qmailtoaster] tcp.smtp question

2008-11-19 Thread Charles Ferland
Example from man page :

tcprules treats 1.2.3.37-53:ins as an abbreviation for the rules
1.2.3.37:ins, 1.2.3.38:ins, and so on up through 1.2.3.53:ins. Similarly,
10.2-3.:ins is an abbreviation for
   10.2.:ins and 10.3.:ins.

I want to remove smtp from all of our production web servers and force
traffic through the toaster.

My question is, can I setup net blocks in the tcp.smpt rules?

  Example: 192.168.0.1/28:allow,RELAYCLIENT=""

where /28 defines my IP range? or will I have to declare each and every IP
(yuk *shoots self in foot*)

I really do not want t open the whole class C on each of our 7 subnets in
production...

I cannot do anything about it. I receive the duplicates as well, and it is a

You'll need to contact him about the issue, but you'll probably not get much of

Thanks - would have never thought about just putting the range in as
192.168.0.1-12

# man tcprules
Search for "Address range"

(Sorry to be terse, but that explains it better than I can!)

I get them as well but not from all senders - only a few.

Some I receive 3 or 4 while others only 2 - very odd.

[qmailtoaster] Port 110 not responding

2008-11-19 Thread Jake Vickers

Hi Jakes,

I need ur help urgently. My mail server has suddenly stopped responding
on port 110. it was up and running till 30 min back my collegues told me
then only i came to know that they are not able to recieve mails and
download in their outlook.

What went wrong i dont know at all. Every thing seems alright and
nothing has been changed on the server since couple of months.

---

Without more information or log files, I don't know either and can only
guess.

Can you telnet to port 110? Is mysql running?
