[qmailtoaster] Clam-av update

2010-08-11 Thread Frank Ombech
Hi,
Im trying to upgrade clamav using the qtp-newmodel script, but
it's not upgrading; im still stuck at clamav version 0.96.0 instead of
0.96.1. What i've noticed is that the script is still downloading
the old rpm. Has someone managed to upgrade their clamav? and how?
thanks.

frank

Now, this rule is pretty simple as rules go. It will match "test" but
also "testing" and "attest" and assign the score to 5 and if score
reach to 5, subject should be replace with ***spam***.

Below is my tcp.smtp file.

:allow,BADMIMETYPE="",BADLOADERTYPE="M",CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="5",CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT="10",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private"

Please let me know what to do to get it done.

I am testing the same in same domain.

If you're testing withing the same domain with an authenticated user, it
won't work.
Also your :allow line is missing the QMAILQUEUE variable, so emails
coming in from the outside are not being passed to simscan to score.

The problem appears to be here:
USER_IN_WHITELIST
You have the user defined in your local.cf file as whitelisted, so they
start with a -100 score. As spamassassin adds together all of the
positive scores, they end up with a -66.8, so this user will never have
their mail deleted as spam.

Looks like using Spamdyke with RDNS enabled would have stopped it. Doesn’t
look like the sending IP has a reverse DNS (PTR) entry. All “Legit” mail
servers should have a reverse DNS entry…Their IP should resolve to
*something*. That setting alone will stop 60% of likely spam, maybe more.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup glitch

2010-08-11 Thread David Milholen

Ok,
 I am trying to migrate from an older dying machine to a newer machine
till I can get the old one repaired and updated.
Here is what I am having trouble with..
The qtp-restore which is V2.11 is having issues copying all of the
accounts in some of the domains. E.G.. /Home/vpopmail/domains to
include the postmaster accounts.

I can do a manual move of these accounts and all seems ok. Except my
vqadmin becomes broken.

Here is what the old machine has:
qtp-whatami
qtp-whatami v0.3.5
DISTRO=CentOS
OSVER=4.8
QTARCH=i686
QTKERN=2.6.9-89.0.23.ELsmp
BUILD_DIST=cnt40
BUILD_DIR=/usr/src/redhat
This machine's OS is supported and has been tested

Here is what the new machine has:

qtp-whatami v0.3.6
DISTRO=CentOS
OSVER=5.5
QTARCH=i686
QTKERN=2.6.18-194.8.1.el5
BUILD_DIST=cnt50
BUILD_DIR=/usr/src/redhat
This machine's OS is supported and has been tested

The hardware for the new one is beefy-er also.

I am having trouble understanding why the backup is broken?
I cant seem to pin it down to HHD or just some script issue.

Any help would be great..

Ha! I know of a QMT that runs about that many domains/accounts, and it's
presently on a Celeron 800MHz with 768M of ram. It has a NAS backend for
storage though. It admittedly struggles at times if it gets a bunch of
legit emails to scan all at once. Had to do a little tuning. Will be
moving this to a VM in the near future. :)

So It looks like it is not being stressed at all.
I will go reduce the RAM to 2Gb and see if it complains

I highly doubt it. Do keep us posted.

Wow, that's a lot of ram. (I should hope you haven't had a problem!)
I would guess that you could probably do just as well with less ram.
Have you checked to see how much ram is actually used (and for what)?

What sort of volume does it process (how many active sessions typical)?
How many domains/accounts?

[qmailtoaster] Re: qtp-newmodel problem

2010-08-11 Thread Eric Shubert

Let's start by making sure you have the latest QTP installed:
# yum update qmailtoaster-plus

Then let's free up a little space on / (hda1). I'm guessing here, but
perhaps you have spamdyke installed (a good thing), and the graylist
tree in /opt/spamdyke/var is taking a bit of space, and certainly
inodes. I would:

# service qmail stop
# mv /opt/spamdyke/var/graylist /data/.
# ln -s ../../../data/graylist /opt/spamdyke/var/.
# service qmail start
This will move your graylist tree to the /data partition, and symlink to it.

Free up whatever additional space you can on / (hda1). Something(s) in
/root perhaps?

In order to run qtp-newmodel successfully with your partition layout,
you'll need to change where things go a little. Edit the
/opt/qmailtoaster-plus/bin/qtp-config file, and change

export OVERLAY=/opt/qtp-overlay
to
export OVERLAY=/mnt/qtp-overlay

If you want to use the unionfs sandbox, you'll need to grab the current
qtp-install-rpmforge script from the svn repository:

# cd /opt/qmailtoaster-plus/bin
# wget http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/trac/export/140/bin/qtp-install-rpmforge
# chmod 755 qtp-install-rpmforge

I expect that should get you going.
Let us know how you make out.

Files can only be linked within the same filesystem (partition). If some
of your system is on separate partitions, those parts cannot be linked
and will be copied automatically. Regardless (and more to the point of
the error), there needs to be a bit of free space available in your /usr
branch, unless you use the unionfs sandbox.

Please post the results of
# df -h

The unionfs sandbox is the recommended choice, but you'll need to grab

What is your previous version of clamav?
Did the rest of your build go through? Do you have an earlier version of
clamav-toaster rpm in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/$ARACH? If you do, please delete
the old rpm.

Don't do rpm -e clamav-toaster.

You should be able to upgrade with just:

rpm -Uhv /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/$ARCH/clamav-toaster*.rpm

RE: [qmailtoaster] How to complied specific package in qmailtoaster-plus

2010-08-11 Thread Suhag P Desai
Thanks Amit,

I have followed your instructions on my setup.

I am trying to setup spamassassin and below is my test.cf file.

[r...@spd spamassassin]# pwd

/etc/mail/spamassassin

[r...@spd spamassassin]# cat test.cf

body LOCAL_DEMONSTRATION_RULE   /test/

score LOCAL_DEMONSTRATION_RULE 5

describe LOCAL_DEMONSTRATION_RULE This is a simple test rule

Now, this rule is pretty simple as rules go. It will match "test" but also
"testing" and "attest" and assign the score to 5 and if score reach to 5,
subject should be replace with ***spam***.

But it is not working in my setup.

Below is my tcp.smtp file.

[r...@spd spamassassin]# cat /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan",DKSIGN="/var/q
mail/control/domainkeys/%/private"

192.168.10.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan"

192.168.30.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan"

:allow,BADMIMETYPE="",BADLOADERTYPE="M",CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="5",CHKUSER_WRONGR
CPTLIMIT="10",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private"

Please let me know what to do to get it done.

I am testing the same in same domain.

Hi Suhag,

Please find steps below to compile Simscan with Enable-Spam-Auth-User:

1) Download src rpm file.
2) rpm -i simscan-toaster-*.src.rpm
3) cd /usr/src/redhat/SPEC
4) vim simscan-toaster.spec
5) Go to line number 490 i.e. authernticated users scanned = OFF and change
OFF to ON.
6) Now go to line number 563 i.e. --enable-custom-smtp-reject. Below this
line add 1 more line mentioning --enable-spam-auth-user
7) Close the SPEC file.
8) rpmbuild -ba --target-i386 simscan-toaster.spec
9) cd ../RPMS/i386
10) qmailctl stop
11) rpm -Uvh simscan*.rpm

Hi.

Thanks, for your help.

I run the command you ask for:
-
qtp-whatami
qtp-whatami v0.3.5
DISTRO=CentOS
OSVER=5.4
QTARCH=i686
QTKERN=2.6.18-164.11.1.el5

This machine's OS is supported and has been tested

I'm not sure what I should do with this:
---
The unionfs sandbox is the recommended choice, but you'll need to grab
the current qtp-install-rpmforge script from the qtp site for that
option to work right now (until the next QTP release is made).

What changes should I do in this script?

Files can only be linked within the same filesystem (partition). If some
of your system is on separate partitions, those parts cannot be linked
and will be copied automatically. Regardless (and more to the point of
the error), there needs to be a bit of free space available in your /usr
branch, unless you use the unionfs sandbox.

Please post the results of
# df -h
# qtp-whatami

The unionfs sandbox is the recommended choice, but you'll need to grab
the current qtp-install-rpmforge script from the qtp site for that
option to work right now (until the next QTP release is made).
