Re: [qmailtoaster] squirrelmailskin
Hi Daniel - I have installed the Nutsmail skin, which I find was a large improvement on the look of Squirrelmail. The skin installs squirrelmail again over the top of the current verison you are using, so plugins or so forth you have installed will be overwritten. Install was easy to perform via the install text file. Personally, the look of the skin is attractive, however due to possible licensing issues with the Nutsmail and squirrelmail, and the great work happening on Roundcube, I will be looking at changing to Roundcube in the comming months. - Original Message From: Daniel Persson [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com Sent: Wednesday, 27 December, 2006 11:59:31 PM Subject: [qmailtoaster] squirrelmailskin Is there anybody who has successfully installed a windows look alike skin on squirrelmail, what skin did you use and was it hard too get it work? - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger.yahoo.com
Re: [qmailtoaster] SpamAssassin cpu usage
Ok, running softlimit with a CPU time of 2 seconds has seen the CPU % max out at 67% now, which I can deal with. I will let it run and see if there are any adverse affects. On a side note, if the spamd process is limited to 2 seconds cpu time, and usually it would take more and have a higher % use, how does that work? Something musts be squeezed to fit into the 2 seconds? Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmail - Different Ips
Not yet - its more of an idea at the moment. Due to excessive spam, and SpamAssassin using large amounts of system resources, I am testing using greylisting/delaying to reject mail before it hits Qmail. However, due to some of my accounts needing SMTP-Auth for remote access to the server all over the world, I thought about setting up a DNS entry for the roaming users that points to another public ip and NIC that sort of back doors the greylisting app thats running on the primary public NIC. So it seems that it may work, any ideas would be appreciated. TYPO: qmail-smtpd, of course. In any way, this is in fact controlled by tcpserver, which is in turn run from /var/qmail/supervise/smtpd/run. There you will find following: #!/bin/sh QMAILDUID=`id -u vpopmail` NOFILESGID=`id -g vpopmail` MAXSMTPD=`cat /var/qmail/control/concurrencyincoming` BLACKLIST=`cat /var/qmail/control/blacklists` SMTPD=/var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd TCP_CDB=/etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp.cdb RBLSMTPD=/usr/bin/rblsmtpd HOSTNAME=`hostname` VCHKPW=/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw exec /usr/bin/softlimit -m 1200 \ /usr/bin/tcpserver -v -R -H -l $HOSTNAME -x $TCP_CDB -c $MAXSMTPD \ -u $QMAILDUID -g $NOFILESGID 0 smtp \ $RBLSMTPD $BLACKLIST $SMTPD $VCHKPW /bin/true 21 The key field is $HOSTNAME. Replace HOSTNAME=`hostname` with HOSTNAME=0, restart qmail, and your tcpserver should accept connections on any local IP from that moment on. Read man tcpserver for more. Huh, I was wrong, sorry. Close look shows that $HOSTNAME here is used to avoid reverse DNS lookup, as a parameter for -l commandline switch. That's my fault, I was too quick when answering. In reality there's already 0 there in place of host-parameter for tcpserver. So, qmail-toaster by default should accept connection on any local IP without the need of any modifications to config. Correct. The smtpd daemon (if I remember correctly) gloams on all IP addresses it can see. You can see what it's accepting by doing: netstat -an Have you tried telnetting to the IP in question? [qmailtoaster] Sendmail Migration - domains in wrong folders
After a 8 hour (arduous!) cutover from a legacy (1000 user) Sendmail system to the Qmailtoaster, I have noticed a strange problem. I used scripts to create all the domains, however for some reason, half have been created in a folder called 1 and the other half in a folder called 2 ie /home/vpopmail/domains/1/xxx.com and /home/vpopmail/domains/2/yyy.com. Has anyone come across a similar problem to this while scripting the creation of 200+ domains? [qmailtoaster] Local Domains
Currently, I need to cut about 40 domains and users over to qmail, from a sendmail configuration. My problem is that users on the qmail server will still need to send mail to the domains on the sendmail server, and if I create the domains on the qmail server, all mail will be sent locally to the new domains. Is there a setting to get qmail to send to the domains on the sendmail server, while Im still configuring the domains on qmail? Re: [qmailtoaster] QMail listening on port 25
Right, that makes sense. The program Im using has its own RBL and SPF functionality. Bare in mind this is all to test whether it can block more spam than the current spamassassion setup I have. I'm not certain of how the proxy works. Would the smtp session appear (to the toaster) to be coming from the ip address of the proxy? If so, that wouldn't be good. RBL processing would be ineffective since it relies on the IP address of the sending MTA, which is now the proxy instead of the real sender. The proxy would need to take on RBL processing if you want to keep that functionality. Note, a very large portion (50% and more) of junk can be rejected using RBLs. SPF wouldn't work either, since the message would appear to the toaster to be coming from the proxy instead of the real sender. Likewise domain keys. It all hinges on the proxy. If the smtp session appears (to the toaster) to be coming from the proxy, all bets are off. If, however, the proxy simply does a port forward type of thing (acting simply like a router), then there wouldn't be a problem. So, how does the proxy work? is the key question. EE, is that about right? I happen to have spamassassin installed as part of the Qmail-toasterpackages, but DSPAM, after being trained with like 100 messages, had a97% accuracy right away. After a year of training, I now see a 99.5%accuracy rate. At this point, I have never seen a message that was spamthat DSPAM didn't catch but spamassassin did - but I never reallytrained spamassassin (is that possible?) or know anything about it'sactual operation. I tried using it for two days, and decided to useDSPAM instead.I'll try to get this up on the wiki soon - I'll have to spend some timeremembering how I did it.NolanGuillermo Villasana wrote: So DSPAM is like spamassassin? Re: [qmailtoaster] It is possible to erase Mail marked like Spam?
Is there anywhere else it could be located? I have done a updatedb and locate on my system, and am unable to find any file called simcontrol. Im running an older version of the Toaster, and cant find that file. You will see that it has a default value of 15. Any messages that score more than 15 will be deleted. You can change this to whatever value you want. If you change it to 8, any messages that get a score above 8 will be deleted. RE: [qmailtoaster] Spam filtering
There is a nice plugin for Squirrelmail called SA-SQL which saves per users spamassassin config in a MySQL table, and has a config page for each user with white/black lists, spam scores and so on.Im currently trying to integrate it into my QmailToaster, if anyone has some tips that would be great!Ron Jones [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I would just install the whole thing and firewall out everything but port25 for incoming traffic. None of the stuff will take up resources if theyaren't used.I agree. However, what I'd like to do is set up some sort of web interfacethat will let me add blacklists, whitelists, rbl's, rules and other neatlittle gimmicky things to show the client. If you could write a page in the wiki about your spamming configuration, that would be nice. :)I'll be glad to... Is there a wiki feature that will let me upload a visio(or an exported .jpg of a visio)?Ron- QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted -To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Do you Yahoo!? [qmailtoaster] SpamAssassin Upgrade
Hi - im currently running the Qmail EZ install from last year - not the current install.I want to upgrade the SpamAssassin to 3.1.4 on it, however Im unsure of whether downloading the new rpm and running rpm -uhv will work properly. Or should I run the updates script from the devel site? Im a little bit lost because my install is different to the current one. Due to this being a current production server, Id like to know what Im in for before I start. Id like to build a test server with my config on it, but I cant seem to see the old EZ mail install anywhere. Thanks On Yahoo!7 Answers: Real people ask and answer questions on any topic.
[qmailtoaster] Simscan and MySQL
Hi - my other question is, Ive installed the SA-SQL plugin for Squirrelmail to allow the users to control their own spam settings, using a MySQL backend. Is there anyway I can interface this with the SpamAssassin in the QmailToaster? I believe QMT uses SimScan??Thanks On Yahoo!7 The new Yahoo!7 home page - scan your email inbox, start an IM conversation or update your blog
Re: [qmailtoaster] Quota Issues
Thanks for the replies. So if I understand it correctly, the way qmailtoaster is setup, to add new domains and set quotas and so forth, should be done from command line? It seems strange that VQAdmin couldnt be updated to the quota part, simply runs the vmoddomain -q command. Due to the fact that I am allowing the postmasters of the domains to regulate themselves, it would be good to be able to use something like VQAdmin to have a say "upper level" control over what they can and cant do, while they still control their own domains to an extent. Now that I have set the quota for each user for each domain, is there any reason why is isnt being reflected in QmailAdmin?? Its saying unlimited still, have I forgotten to add something else? Its showing up when I run a vmoddomain -S.Thanks again."Eric \"Shubes\"" [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Shelly wrote: Hi. Thanks You should probably use the vadddomain command for setting up virtual domains. There were some compatibility issues with vqadmin and quotas. I'm not familiar with the specifics, as I don't use vqadmin. See http://devel.qmailtoaster.com/faq.html#vqadminErik did create a patched version of vqadmin-toaster which supports valias.
