Hi

Thanks for your response, as I am using 32 bit and i can't go for 64 bit. It
will be greatfull if you provide me the details about changes in mysql table in
32 bit .

You need to use 64bit to get beyond 2gb limit. You can probably edit
values by hand from mysql tables to achieve this without 64bit. Problem
is qmailadmin not qmail (or vpopmail)  itself.

Easiest way to accomplish is to install and use qtp-newmodel:

[qmailtoaster] tcpblocker

2009-08-04 Thread Karpaha Vinayaham
Dear all,

Today i find a tool, that block clients who connect too often to
tcpserver controlled services and builds a tcp.smtp style deny file
to temporarily block them. This is available from
http://www.inter7.com/index.php?page=tcpblocker

Actually there is a bug in it. We need to make some changes like

in tcpblock.c file, line number 279

from

for(i=0;i<5&&tmpstr!=NULL;++i) tmpstr = strtok(NULL,TOKENS);

to

for(i=0;i<7&&tmpstr!=NULL;++i) tmpstr = strtok(NULL,TOKENS);

Because by default, it blocks the server IP. after making this changes compile
it.

This will be usefull for   SMTP Connection Throttling.

Re: [qmailtoaster] vpopmail upgrade

2009-08-19 Thread karpaha vinayaham
Hi Eric

This new release is really a good news, if its solves the quota limit of 2GB
per users. if the new version solve this issues, i will be testing this
with my test machine.

Can you guide me, how do i make the vpopmail-toaster rpm for my centos 5.3
with this new source file.

Till now i followed the following procedure to upgrade any src package,

example-

rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt50 $VPOP
rpm -Uvh /usr/src/$BDIR/RPMS/$ARCH/vpopmail-toaster*.rpm

I have not updated any toaster package directly from source file, please
guide me.

Before upgrading vpomail, if i need to take any precaution you can share it,
because this will help me while upgrading in my production server. Now im
going to test in my test machine only.

[qmailtoaster] query on qmail-tap

2009-09-23 Thread karpaha vinayaham
Dear All

Below is my taps file content

us...@mydomain.com:us...@otherdomain.com
us...@mydomain.com:us...@otherdomain.com

What i am trying to do is, forward both the incoming and sent mails of
us...@mydomain.com to us...@otherdomain.com, same setting is for user2.

While testing i am facing issue like, i sent a mail from us...@mydomain.com
to us...@mydomain.com. Result is only a single copy is tapped to
us...@otherdomain.com.

It fails to tap to us...@otherdomain.com for the incoming mails of
us...@mydomain.com, what it supposed to as per document.

For your info, both the domains mydomain.com and otherdomain.com is on the
same server. In simple i want to implement a tap for all my users on
mydomain.com. As all my users are pop3 account, i want to take backup in
different domain.

Anyone can suggest me in this

[qmailtoaster] want to implement qmailanalog

2009-10-05 Thread karpaha vinayaham
Dear List

Have anyone tried or using qmailanalog utility with qmailtoaster. I would
like to try this on my setup, as the features are really good .

qmailanalog is a collection of tools to help you analyze
qmail's
activity record. It supplies statistics to answer a wide variety of
questions:

   - overall: how many messages? recipients? attempts? etc.
   - ddist: how soon were 50% of the messages delivered? 90%? 95%? 99%?
   - rxdelay: what's the best order of recipients for mailing lists?
   - recipients, rhosts: who's getting mail? bytes? messages? attempts?
   - successes, failures, deferrals: why? how often? how much delay?
   - senders, suids: messages? bytes? load? recipients? attempts? delay?

qmailanalog also includes several tools to focus attention on particular
senders, recipients, or messages.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Protection against spam coming from within your email server

2010-01-28 Thread karpaha vinayaham
Hi

Regarding the spam mail generated through a authenticated user, today i have
send a test mail and checked with gmail account for spamming, i changed the
from address as a...@xyz.com and i used the authentication through a valid
gmail account x...@gmail.com. The beauty is that the FROM address has changed
to x...@gmail.com instead of a...@xyz.com and the message is properly
delivered to the mentioned recipient.

NOTE
Eventhough i changed the from address and tried to do spamming, gmail
server changes the from address as a authentiacted user email id, so their
IP will not be listed in RBL. Is it possible in qmailtoaster to implement
like this.

As per Rajesh suggestion, we can limit the number of connections later.

I think, by doing this we can prevent our server IP from rbl list.

Jake and Eric i am looking forward for your comments on this.

Best Regards
Vinay

For example, if you send 50 emails to yahoo domain, as per my knowledge

Of-course yahoo limits the connection from single IP.
So what i want to add here is, if there is 50 emails. As yahoo has many
backup MX servers, what qmail has to do is
it should check for the secondary mx servers and delivers message like
10 emails on each server.
