I have an indwelling
catheter and I have been taking Colloidal Silver for the past 3 years and it
has dramatically reduced the amount of UTIs I get.

Cheers

I se the Bard

getting them often. Do I started a low dose of antibiotics daily. I know that
is not a great Idea, but I was just getting them too often. I was about the get
one of those bladder augmentation, but tried the antibiotics as a last chance
thing. Its worked great. In 2 years I havent had a UTI.

[QUAD-L] cooking today

2006-11-11 Thread LadyOnWheels725

We have something in common.
Sunday will be my 8th year. It doesn't seem like that many years
have gone by in one sense,,and in another,,the years have lasted forever I
guess it is how we look at them. I try to look at life in a positive
way,,no matter what is going on,,after all we are still alive, and being with
family.

My oldest son drove in this morning
traveling from Ft Wayneon his move to Lake Charles, La. We are
having all the kids over tonight and having gumbo. It is the first time we
have all been together in a year. I am wondering if they remember what the
date is ??? Anyway,,got my chair out of the shop on Thursday
just in time to cook !!!

Congratulations on your 8th anniversary. I'm so pleased you're
getting to spend the evening with your family cooking and that your wheelchair
is back from the shop, especially with your special day tomorrow. We have
to look at things as positive and be glad each thing is behind us.

Sometimes the years roll slowly when we are having difficulties. I
don't think anyone remembered my 32nd the year, unfortunately that is normal I
think. Everybody has so many things going on in their own lives.

I hope you have a wonderful evening cooking your gumbo.Dana

Re: [QUAD-L] Aids stealing your meds

2006-11-11 Thread Amy Davis
Hi Mark...I am a caregiver myself. If your aid is addicted to pain meds then you need to find someone else. Sounds like she is there to feed her habit. Your needs should come first. There is good help out there. Does she work though a company? If she does then you need to notify them. She should not be working on drugs. She is responsible for your care. If you hired her privately...then you need to have a very frank talk with her. Talk with family memebers who can put your meds in a safe place..maybe leave only a few out in the bottle and hide the rest. Yes, it is a shame that people have to hide their belongings in their own house but it happens. You need to address this problem soon. Not worth being miserable and in pain in your own home. Good luck. AmyRollinOn [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:Hey People, How many here have an aid that steals your pain medication? I'm so f*ing mad because I have a uti and you all know how seriously painful they are and my meds came up missing a week after I filled them again this month. I'm really upset because this girl has been with me since I moved home 5 years ago and is the best help I've had but I can't take it no more, I'm in agony right now but what upsets me the most is how helpless I feel. Your aide has violated Federal Law
Your aide has violated State Law
Your aide has violated a Moral Code
Your aide has violated a sacred trust with you
Your aide has violated a moral code of their job.

You now have an civil responsibility to stop this by making contact with
your local police department and file a report. You are not the first to
have this happen to you and your won't be the last. Your police detective will
help you set up a sting to have that person busted. The bust will set into
motion some other things. If this person is a registered aide working for
an agency, the agency will be responsible for their actions and hiring
policies. Let's hope the employment agency will reimburse you for pills,
medicine and anything else you have lost to someone who is "Hooked."
Funny, but I have no mercy for these kinds of people. They deserve
any punishment they receive. Press for charges. Everyone will have
more respect for you because you stood up for yourself, in face of the obvious
odds. If you don't... who will?
Best Wishes

Hey Mark,

So sorry you are going through so much pain and especially from somebody
you trusted and you thought was one of your best aides. I have similar
problems with mind only not with pain meds. Person seemed to take
advantage of us especially after they know are vulnerabilities. It seems
the only answer is to find someone else as most people don't change. It is
something inherited their personalities that we did not recognize
initially.

I wish you to know the right thing to do and say about the situation
although how can you think when you're in so much unbearable pain and it's hard
to find somebody to stay with you that long.

I will add this problem for you to the prayer I already do for you.
Sometime's insurance will give you another if you say you lost. Can you
talk to your doctor about this. One time I talked with the police about a
aid stealing and they said they would talk to all my aides. The person
would not admit anything, and they had already quit.Always,Dana

You are not helpless in this situation. DO NOT confront her yourself. There are counselors from the DA's office that can check out the story gather proof. That is the most important thing to have. Do you have a camera that you can have aimed towards the safe?Where are you living?KK

Hello, Mark

I totally understand this problem. The solution I came up with was to have trusted family or friends keep most of the prescription and only keep 3-4 days worth in my apt. Good luck with this very frustrating problem.
