[QUAD-L] Miralax

2008-05-30 Thread Dan
Anyone tried Miralax? If so, what's the good and bad.

Yea. I've used it as long as I've taken hydrocodone and especially oxycodone.
Without Mirilax, or polyethelene glycol 3350nf, I would be so incredibly
impacted. I take it twice the day before I do my bowel regime. It has no taste
and works well in coffee. It doesn't cause cramps. It is moving water to your
bowel. I actually mix it with Citricel the night before. The two mixed together
don't taste nearly as awful as they look. Your system may need more or less of
it, but it sure stopped the 'roids and helps me get done sooner.

You can get it in generic form. It is justPOLYETHYLENE GLYCOL (PEG) 3350.

I have used it daily for about a year. Even before it was OTC. It is
extremely fine dust almost that dissolves in anything with no taste or change
of texture.

It comes in 2 size bottles. It was way cheaper when my insurance paid for it.
Cheapest i have found was at Walmart for $19

Thanks to all that responded. If I don't get my bowels under control soon I'll
be married to the commode!

[QUAD-L] DORS closing my case

2008-05-30 Thread Stacy Harim
Hey all,
I got a notice from voc rehab that they are closing my case because I haven't
done anything to move forward in education or employment.
I called them and talked to my counselor.  They want a note from my doctor on
how long he anticipates recovery and if I don't get better by August then I'm
getting my case closed.  He also said he needs to sit with the supervisor to
see how many more semesters they will pay for.  I had to drop classes last year
because of illness and they are not being very cooperative or empathetic about
my situation.
Has anyone else had their case closed because of hospitilizations?  Any advice
is appreciated because if I don't have them helping me with school when I'm
better then I am screwed and I don't want to settle for any job but want to
finish my education.  That is my ultimate goal.
Stacy

You have the right of appeal. Look in the back of your DORS book and read
the process for appealing their decision. Remember to do everything in
writing. they will.

Should I write and tell them that voc rehab plans to close my case or actually
wait until it's closed?   I wonder because if I wait, it may take too long for
the process.

[QUAD-L] DORS closing my case

You may wish to consider advising DORS of your objection and advising them
that you will appeal any decision contrary to your future education. I would
also consider going downstate with the appeal process.

Thanks.  I will type something up formally to DORS about appealing any
decision.  I don't feel they should close my case because before I had medical
issues last year, I was a great student and did get my AA a few years ago so I
feel its obvious that I have every intention of continuing to use their
services.  I may get you all to read it before I send it for any ideas I may be
missing out on.
Thanks again,
Stacy

A written statement from your school will also support your claim too.
Please consider it.
