Re: [QUAD-L]-Throne advice
Mine is made by tuperware. It's padded with foam. The bucket is round but it's the only chair i've tried that I don't slip in. It has been a great piece..of equipment. I've had the seat recovered several times but the seamstress that was doing that moved away and now I cabn't seem to find anyone that will recover it for a decent price. It has a lovely 4 inch thick foam seat under naughahide (sp). In most cases I hate getting out of that chair. I can find similar commode and shower chairs but none with the rectangular catch bucket that removes from behind and is suspended low enough for me to stimulate. Am I missing something? Do any of you know where such a throne can be purchased. Mine is also having peculiar aging problems. I'd like to replace it before I don't have a pot to poop in. If any of you know a place that has a comfortable shower/commode chair. While mine looks a lot like the Invacare model, it holds the bucket lower and I need those inches of clearance. Maybe you have a better, more comfy chair. I'm listening. I feel like a friend is dying. Best to all, john

Guardian and Invacare were big in padded shower chairs. W In a message dated 8/24/2008 6:33:45 P.M. Central Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: I have to be serious now? LOL John, It sounds like we have almost the same chair! I have had the same chair since 1980 as well. It is a drab yellow color and has that thick 3-4 inch CUSHIONED seat. Mine originally came with wheels and foot pedals but when my spasms got worse we removed the wheels and the foot pedals so I can just rest my feet on the carpet or take that opportunity to soak them in warm soapy water and lotion up afterward. However, a little over a year ago we had to resort to doing my routine in bed. I don't go as well as in an upright position but right now I have no choice and I certainly do not miss having to be liftted on and off the thing. My rehabilitation Hospital had me doing my routine in bed but my mother purchased this "shower chair" with the best of intentions for me when I got home but I have only used it for my bowel routine and that only started months after I got home. I can't remember why I stopped doing it in bed in 1981 and went to the chair but now I am back to bed again. I have searched and searched and searched out of curiosity to see if there are any quality chairs like the ones you and I have with no luck so ever. W, I am pretty sure there is now no brand or model number on my old beast but there is no doubt it will last a lifetime and then some! The wheels and the foot pedals/rests are long gone however. But it has one damn cushy seat and soft-padded back! Lori On Sun, Aug 24, 2008 at 10:41 AM, John S. <[EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) > wrote: I've had the same commode chair since 1980.
