How and why was your urethra burned close? I have never heard of this. Is
this something they usually do when you get a suprapubic catheter?

You are giving urine coming out of the stoma? If so, you might need to put
more fluid in the bulb.

Barbera I had this problem for quite a while, but my urethra eventually
stopped leaking for the most part. Like the others, I believe Ditropan is
probably your best bet. It was a little easier for me to deal with, because
I can put a Texas catheter on the end of my penis.
Good luck and welcome to the list.

I couldn't say medically but kept me from having to manage urine from the
bladder and Supra Pubic. Some place after the bladder was closed off. All
came in one unexpected packaged deal getting the SP. I was imagining having
one tube to one bag on each exit. Glad I was wrong there.

When they do your care or change catheters make sure they clean and keep it
all sterile and of course drink a lot...

I have a suprapubic catheter as well and I still get infections all the

You need to get Ditropan XL. Your urethea still works. It was not closed off.
The
Ditropan has stopped the leaking spasms that i was having.

Welcome to the group. I have Multiple Sclerosis only have use of my right
arm.

Dear Barbara,

It is hard for most people to understand, but if Urologists had a personality
they would be OB/GYN's. So, ask Doc Charming, when he's done pretending he is
House, could he give you a prescription for Ditropan. Increase your own dosage
if you still get spasms. Make sure you have blood pressure meds because a full
bladder can send you into stroke territory.
I take Atenelol, but I have heart problems and you must take this daily. There
are meds from the 50's that slam your BP down while you correct the cause. I
just take another Atenelol. The old meds (if I could remember the name I'd die
happy.) are great if you don't have chronic hypertension or heart problems.
My point in saying this is that you don't want to take meds that mask your
problem.

Best of luck and Happy Easter,
john
