Hello Danny, The tests done on cranberry was on fresh juice not pill form. The Colloidal Silver has had my attention lately. Seems the more I read the less consistent the literature is. I think there is something to it if I can ever figure it out. Every info source contradicts the next. In the past I wore externals. UTIs were like two in three months. My doctors were always on me to get a SP which I did last April in which time I've had two UTIs. Every doctor or person with a SP says that this is the best thing you can do for yourself. The catheter is changed every six weeks. The site is cleaned daily and triple action antibiotic jell is also put around the site. I drink horsetail tea daily which is a weed bought cheaply or found. Tastes like the cob on corn on the cob. Drunk also as tea is the silk from the cob. Freshness opposed to capsules is important. Actually I have had more than two UTIs since last year but they required antibiotics. One item you failed to mention to do is drink, drink, drink fluids, even throughout the night. If I do not drink enough then I will come down with an infection. Thanks ,,Merrill- I use oxybutinin as needed and I take cranberry pills and or drink the juice a lot. I do drink lots of water because I know its needed. I think i'm more at risk having Diabetes and having the supra-pubicthe doctors told me that both those increase my UTI and infection troubles. Dan H. Well that is easy, don't worry about it! Yea Dan, used them all but I don't have an indwelling catheter. Whoever is doing your personal care must scrub and use sterile gloves when changing your cath. If they have kids or love houseplants, they need dipped in liquid sterilizer. If you can keep your bladder acidic then you should be able to ask your doc about using Mandelamine. Great anti infective but doctors are afraid patients won't keep their urine acid. I'll suggest this again and you can ignore me. Get a very small leg bag and keep it attached to your indwelling catheter. Attach your leg bag and bed bag to it. It adds an anti backflow barrier at the usual point of infection. Handy for seeing if your urine is starting to look bad or to get samples for tests. They have nice cheap 8 oz. bags with lines that have metal clips shutting them. You remove the line from the bottom and simply attach a short length of yellow foam line to the bag where the nasty green line was. You attach your regular bed bag or leg bag to the drain end of the small bag. I have to get a cam and make a video. I've never had trouble connecting bags to bags. Let me know if that is any help? best wishes, john - Original Message From: Stacy Harim [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: John S. I understand. It's just a matter of finding them. I got them a few times when I had a homehealth nurse coming in but since my sore is finally gone (woohoo), I don't need them to come anymore. I get legbags from appledrug and that is the only pharmacy in my area that carries medical supplies such as catheters, leg bags, etc. Stacy - Original Message From: John S. We are getting 12 of snow in Cincy. Well, It is like the vans. I never had one. I haven't had a real UTI since '88. I sure never liked SP but had it for 2 years. I have 3 bed bags hanging on my bed because it is very likely nobody will make it in a foot of snow. You can double and triple leg bags but not the kind with screw valves. Slide the yellow utility hose over the end of the lever valves and other end to the next bag. Leave the valve open. I wish you the best. john - Original Message From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; quad-list@eskimo.com Sent: Friday, March 7, 2008 11:03:41 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] UTI and ETC Help Aids In a message dated 3/7/2008 10:55:35 PM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: How do you attatch your leg bag and bed bag?
