I didn't have any pain until about 4 months later. I think that is when my muscles started breaking down then the tingling, burning, etc started. It was in my butt mostly. My spasms didn't even start until months after my injury. Now with the sore, it hurts really bad. I got some breakdown on my ankle from the airmattress (imagine that!!!). That hurt as well. I do feel more things as time goes on including more pleasure as well. I didn't think after a few years that would happen but after 5 years, I feel more all the time.

Sometimes I will ask my husband to apply pressure here or rub there and I findout that I have told him the wrong place. He says I wear him out before he even finds the area that is hurting me. The pain from the nerves surprise me about the location.
When I go to have the botox injections in my legs we will mark my legs the night before. We have to do a a few at a time because I loose the ability to know the exact pinpoint area to shoot. My nerves in my legs are so fragile that the EMG machine is not much help.
I think as we all get older we are going to have to deal with all types of pain obstacles. I just don't know what else it can be.

Hi Diane,

And I've found that parts of my body that I hurt post SCI aches a lot more as time passes. Age puts a strain on the body of someone with a SCI.
