Hello ladies. I need some sexual advice. I just recently started my 1st
relationship after 9 years of being injured. We've been together about 7 months
but we haven't had actual sex. Our main concern is the catheter, I've seen
information that says you cannot have sex with a foley and other that says you
can. I have had issues before when the catheter has come out (without even
doing anything), so I wonder if that could happen during sex? Any advice you
can give me wold be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You could put a little more in water in the ballon to make the cath more Secure
and tape the cath to your thigh if you'd like for even more security. Depends
on how active you plan on getting.
THE MOST Important thing to do is ... TO HAVE FUN AND LAUGH A LOT!!!
FYI ~ I had a small bowl movement one time.

When I asked my Physiatrist, when I was first injured at 17 and a Virgin, Can
I still have sex? His answer, back in 1973,was Yes, but you might get
pregnant or had a bowel movement. As he ran away. I yelled back to him What
if I don't want either? He never answered me.

Just have fun and laugh at whatever happens.

yeah, i was 33 with 2 preteens. mine asked me if i wanted to consider a
hysterectomy. with my husband having a vasectomyi told him no. i later had
a an ablation. what a blessing that was. something some young females might
want to consider if you don't want children. no more periods!!! excuse my
mis-spellings. i wouldn't blow up the baloon though any further...just my
opinion. mine never fell out.

oh hush w...enjoy liz, you'll be just fine!

On the male side, it can be done safely. Remember that irritation can cause
other issues. Bacteria in the urine can cause other types of issues. Hope
your new relationship understands, takes their time and has patience.

Good Luck to both of you.

liz,
i'm 25 years post and have been married almost 40 years. we've never
experienced a foley coming out. (being that your a quad, i'm going to assume
he'll be some what gentle) at any rate my husband changes my foley every 2
weeks. it can be taught. it's not difficult. it shouldn't happen. enjoy!

other that says you can. I have had issues before when the catheter has come
out (without even doing anything), so I wonder if that could happen during
sex? Any advice you can give me wold be greatly appreciated.

On the male side, it can be done safely. Remember that irritation can
cause other issues. Bacteria in the urine can cause other types of
issues. Hope your new relationship understands, takes their time and has
patience.
Good Luck to both of you.
Best Wishes

Hello ladies. I need some sexual advice. I just recently
started my 1st relationship after 9 years of being injured. We've been
together about 7 months but we haven't had actual sex. Our main concern is
the
catheter, I've seen information that says you cannot have sex with a foley
and
other that says you can. I have had issues before when the catheter has come
out (without even doing anything), so I wonder if that could happen during
sex? Any advice you can give me wold be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks in
