Re: Spigot Power AV Problem
Mark Benson [EMAIL PROTECTED]: I don't think the 8.1 version OF ASP does slot info. As far as other utilities go it shows up in the 'about' dialog of the Radius Dynamic Desktop CP as a 'DeskStudio 1.0 b4' which is what it is (DeskStudio, made by BUG, is actually the Japanese version but it's the same card). If anyone has the original DeskStudio Extensions or something like that I'll try those instead... SPAV doesn't require Radius Dynamic Desktop, which might simnly bring out incompatibilities. Radius Dynamic Desktop seems to be aimed at VVS users. AFAIK Radius Dynamic Desktop never did ship with SPAV. I would disable all of that stuff, and try to run a a minimum set of just the necessary extensions, especially Quicktime version whatever (free v2.5 is a good staring point) and Spigot AV Extension v1.1. Well seeing as how I have a Radius Thunder IV 1360 GX Graphics card I'd rather not disable the DSP Support and the Dynamic desktop support. I never intended to use it with the SPAV card it was just a reference to show the card wasn't dead, I'm bad but I'm not that stupid ;). I got it to work anyway, you know what it was? I HAVE to have a monitor plugged into the onboard graphics controller to use the AV system's video digitizer, not into the NuBus graphics card. Re: iCab crashes
Memory was double the minimum, and I disabled multiple in a simplifying frenzy, before getting the email...and iCab got stable. Didn't need the multiple, because if I have a large download coming in, I go away and do something else. Still doesn't work right with eBay searches, though. on 06/11/2002 01:13 PM, Gamba at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Oh, and disable multiple connections. the pickle Yup, iCab was a disaster until I disabled multiple connections. It's the best 68K browser that I have seen for coping with modern-bloated-badcode-screwedup web sites. Definitely. I can't keep Netscape running longer than 10 minutes on any 68Ks unless I'm browsing text-only or HTML standards-compliant sites, and most sites that use CSS (which is almost everything now) look horribly wrong. iCab's CSS isn't finished by any means, but it's far better than anything else out there on the 68K. And eBay's code sucks. Hear, hear. impossible, no matter which 68K browser/Mac I use. The *only* way that I can get it done is to use the PowerCurve. I smell JAVA. It's not Java, but I'm mystified at how eBay/half.com seem to have managed to write CGI scripts (which are SUPPOSED to be platform- and browser-independent) that don't work with iCab but work fine with Netscape and IE. the pickle FAQ http://macfaq.org/index.shtml Software Archive ftp://download:[EMAIL PROTECTED]//Users/thepickl/Sites/Archive/ http://www.members.jmug.org/%7Ethepickl/archive/ _ -- Quadlist is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
