[Quantum Owners] Re: For Sale 2+2 Chassis No Q2-001

2018-06-11 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Hi All
I thought that the first 2+2 was a red round headlight version which was
tested by various magazines. I believe it was scrapped by Quantum because
it had been badly damaged by the magazine's journalists.
This would make Q2-002 the oldest 2+2. A round headlight version owned by
my son James, previously owned by me.

[Quantum Owners] OBD Port

2017-10-15 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Hi All
Can anyone tell me which is the correct OBD port on a 1600 CVH EFi loom.
There appears to be two, one black & one white, both with red caps.
Also does anyone know of an interface or programme to give a readout on a
computer instead of the Gunson reader which relies on counting flashes on a
LED (which I have)
My H4i is misfiring between 2500 & 3500 rpm when cold, with sooty plugs.
Any suggestions welcome.

[Quantum Owners] Re: H4i nearside rear bulb holder

2017-09-17 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Hi Glyn
I had the same problem with my H4. turned out to be tarnish on the multi
plug contacts. I cleared it by spraying WD40 on the contacts & leaving it a
few minutes to work.
If you waggle ( a technical term!) the plug you should either cure or
reproduce the fault,

[Quantum Owners] Six Wheeled Cars

2017-04-12 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Hi All
The six wheel F1 car was a TYRRELL P 34 , 1976 vintage. They had some
success driven by Jody Schecter & Patrick Depailler. The car had four
smaller front wheels to help cut drag.
The six wheeled kit car was a STARCRAFT campervan based on Cortina with an
additional chassis. I considered buying one once as it was tax exempt, but
it was too ugly!
I'm still looking for a tax exempt car.
Must go now, i have to sort out my anorak!

[Quantum Owners] Re: Shugborough

Hi Nigel
There were only about ten kitcars at Shugborough but lots of classic cars,
most of which seem not to have been to local shows. The weather was good so
it was an enjoyable experience. The catering seemed reasonable (compared to
Stonleigh).
However Shugborough is being taken over by National Trust, who seem to be
cancelling all community acctivities like football ect, so the organisers
do not know if the show will be on next year.
I gave them my contact details & will let you know what happens.

[Quantum Owners] Re: Crankshaft Sensor

2016-07-23 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Thanks all for your help. Jim, your remarks about screened cable was
welcomed because I intend to wire the pug on the bench & solder onto the
loom using heatshrink, & routing it a better way. Since I have done my
tempory fix (pushing the bullet conectors back in tightly) the car seems to
go much better. I suppose the poor connection was causing spurious signals.

[Quantum Owners] Re: Crankshaft Sensor

2016-07-21 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Thanks Jim. i assumed that it would be a Ford specific part to maximise
profit!
I don't suppose you know which one it is? I'm a bit wary of removing the
origional without a replacement in case it falls apart.

[Quantum Owners] Crankshaft Sensor

2016-07-18 Thread 'Jim Turner' via Quantum Owners Group
Hi All
Does anyone have, or know where I can get, a connector for the crankshaft
sensor on a CVH XR2i. My local Ford dealer (Acorn) who is normally magic at
sourcing obscure parts,e-bay, & breakers can't help.

for driver plus one passenger. You will be directed to park inside the
museum so long as you arrive before 10, otherwise you will have to park on
the public car parks and pay the normal entrance fee.

If you haven't been to the BCLM before, this is a really good day out and
there's traditional fish and chips cooked in beef dripping that can be
bought as well as other food outlets.

Charlie and I will definitely be there and we have heard of two others who
plan to come. We look forward to seeing a few more Quantum owners on the
 day.

 Hi all
I know that this is not Quantum specific but there are some clever people

I have aquired a Peerless Mod 6000 Exhaust analizer which does not work.
The meter works zeros so I am assuming that the sensor is faulty.
Would a lambard sensor replace this, or any other suggestions appreciated
