[qubes-users] Re: Using and Mounting a Secondary Internal HD
I'm not planning to use it for dual boot. Would like to have the additional space to create larger VM's stored on the second drive. To be able to clone decent sized Ubuntu & Windows templates. So far I've attempted to format the disk through fdisk as an extended partition. Then used mkfs.ext3 to format the drive. But when it comes to putting ext3 type into fstab. it returns as an unrecognized type. I then took a crack at these instructions: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/custom-install/#manual-encryption-configuration-r31 The most efficient way honestly, might be backing up all the VM's to an external disk, wiping the OS, and installing with both drives formatted together on initial installation. (would need to buy the drive) It will be good experience to get it configured manually. But to pick up where I left off required decryption and opening of the luks volume by command line. What is the best method for extending the LVM within Qubes? So 1) Lukas partition 2) mkfs.ext3 3) fstab & crypttab -N -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. Re: [qubes-users] Big problem?
Have any of you ever had to call Microsoft Support? Good luck with that. In any case they're not in the business of assisting people in Windows Installation (without a paid support package.) Re: [qubes-users] Big problem?
Qubes requires quite a bit of work and managing of Linux packages to get running as you would like it. I suggest using a second computer initially that you can use to get familiar with it. I have the same issue with booting into BIOS with an SSD. It boots too fast and I miss the prompt half the time. When you get to the Boot prompt (likely f9) select boot from USB. You'll have option as to where to boot from. You need to have a bootable USB drive on the USB. You can find the directions online. If you have any other issues just shoot me an email directly. I'll walk you through any issues. My email is in the list. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. Re: [qubes-users] Re: Windows 7 installation stops
I went through the process just a couple of nights ago. So far the clearest instructions I've found are listed here. Related to the Xen video driver as a previous member has mentioned. https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/2488 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. [qubes-users] Skype Package Installation Issue
I've installed the Skype .dpm package and installed it using dnf install ./..dpm. The installation completed without errors. However, I don't see skype listed in the AppVm's list of available shortcuts or within the installed software app. I've also tried installing Skype on a Debian template with the same result. How do I go about launching the Skype application post install? The Skype web application has no option available for Web calls. The section is greyed out, despite the webcam being loaded on the AppVm and accessable by Cheese. Any help is appreciated. It's been an interesting process. This being the last step for a functional OS. Thanks!! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group.
