[SlimDevices: Radio] Squeeze Box Radio Connection
I think I know the answer to this but looking for confirmation. Picked up a used Squeezebox radio a few months ago, firmware version 7.7.3 r16676. Factory reset it and connected it to my home wifi. Setup some favorite radio stations on the memory buttons then took it to my work for an office radio. Connected it to our guest wifi network and have been streaming radio stations no problem the last couple months. I came back to work Monday and the wifi icon was red. Power cycled the device several times, looked at the settings and the guest network shows up with IP address etc. I then connected the device to my iphone hotspot and it streamed radio fine (wifi icon was white). Tried connecting to work's guest network and red again. I brought the device home and it connects fine to my home network. Not sure if this is relevant, but work uses Cisco access points. I am unable to use ethernet at work for a guest network and wouldn't dare plug it into the work network. My assumption now is that the device has been blocked from the guest network or am I overlooking something else? We had a brief power outage yesterday and my clock disappeared again. I tried your method of stopping LMS and rebooting pCP and that worked great! It worked on my SB Radio that had been limited to Squeezenetwork! Used old computer as advised, with LMS 7.8. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Recommendation for new Squeezebox Radio Battery
I used to use batteries - admittedly those bought via a major online retailer and not OEM - and while they never went up in flames, they did display some odd behaviour in that the radios would start up playing at random times. Before I noticed this, I recommended batteries to a friend with the same radios and they also experienced the same behaviour with those same batteries. I assume this was something to do with the poor quality of the batteries. Has anybody seen this behaviour? It put me off batteries only because I was never sure of a quality brand to buy and considering now maybe buying the above recommended German units. marzipan71's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116950 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
