We had a brief power outage yesterday and my clock disappeared again. I tried your method of stopping LMS and rebooting pCP and that worked great! Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] My clock stopped working! How do I get it back?
So I updated the picoreplayer and the LMS to 8.3 and that seems to have done the trick. It's weird that it just suddenly stopped working one day but I am glad I was able to get it sorted. Now to just figure out how to keep the radio connected to my wifi... usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117038 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

When I switch the player to mysqueezebox.com then it shows the clock as expected but when I switch back to LMS (picoreplayer LMS version 8.1.0) then the clock disappears again. In the past the clock always persisted when connected to LMS so this is a bit confusing. I am also struggling with keeping this radio connected to wifi like a lot of people these days but even with this struggle the clock would still show up until recently. Not sure what to do now. ---- usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117038 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] My clock stopped working! How do I get it back?
Hi All! I am not sure what happened but now when my Radio is stopped or off it no longer shows the clock but only a blank, black screen. I have double checked the screensaver menu in the settings and no matter which version of the clock I choose nothing shows up when the radio is inactive. The now playing and menu screens all still work so the screen itself is not bad. I am not sure what I did but I really need to have the clock functional as that is it's main use as a bedside squeezebox. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117038 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio Podcast Problem
Hi John, I know you are looking to fix the podcast plugin but for listening to Marketplace you can use the TuneIn app as it shows up there a long with recent episodes. I have been listening to Marketplace this way for a while now. You can use this until the podcast problems get sorted. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106761 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio WIFI issues
You can add me to the list of those with wifi issues on their radio. I have a radio in my bedroom and one in my master bathroom. The bedroom radio has been pretty solid but the bathroom radio has frequent wifi disconnects where it can see my network but fails to connect. The router is physically located on the otherside of a wall from both the bedroom radio and the bathroom radio. My solution when it disconnects and cannot reconnect is pulling the plug and letting it reboot. I unplug from the wall as this radio also seems to have a faulty power port where the power supply plugs in and sometimes it is totally without power and I have to wiggle the chord to get it power up again. I love the size and convenience of the radios but they aren't the most reliable units. When I finally give up on this one I will be in the market for something similar that can hopefully connect to LMS via one of Phillippes plugins. If anyone has a suggestion of a similar sized powered speaker that has a reliable connection to LMS via one of the bridge plugins I would be interested in hearing about it. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106916 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Disconnection after 10 mins
I did switch the network to the ethernet connection in the network menu but it still did not work. In any case, the third factory reset has seemed to do the trick as now it is working again. Best of luck to Philippe to get his working again. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106189 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Disconnection after 10 mins
I have been having sporadic Radio problems for a while. Everything from them randomly playing music by themselves to them dropping off the network entirely needing a reboot to the most common event of the backlights turning themselves on for whatever reason. When I read your post I decided to check the status of my radios again and wouldn't you know it one of them (the bedroom radio) was offline again. I have just spent 30 minutes restarting and fumbling with it and I still cannot get it come back online. All of my other players are working including the usually troublesome bathroom radio. I have even moved the radio over to plug it in via ethernet and I still cannot get it to show up. I do not get any light indicating a network connection when plugging in the functioning ethernet cable (I unplugged the ethernet cable from my working mac so I know it is not the cable either). So now both the wireless and the ethernet connection for my bedroom radio are not working  Very frustrating to say the least. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106189 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Is anybody else sticking with Squeezebox solely because of the Radios?
What keeps me with LMS/Squeezebox is replacement costs with Sonos are just way too high. I have two radios, a boom, a classic and two hacked pogoplugs running squeezelite as my primary players. The costs for two play 1's, a play 3 and three Sonos Connect's would be $1750 with no appreciable benefits. I am not the kind of audiophile that gets terribly annoyed at subtle nuances he claims to hear so the sonic quality of even my pogoplugs is good enough for me. If Spotify support was lost though I would likely expand my collection of chromecasts and google cast enabled speakers to replace the LMS system. If and when that happens I will have some difficult choices to make but until then I am very happy with what I have and have no interest in spending money on anything else. If any of my players were to die I would either put together a Pi based system or look for a quality speaker that supported airplay or google cast and use them with LMS and Philippe's excellent airplay bridge and castbridge plugins. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106041 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio turns on by itself. Any idea why?
I have tried unplugging the radios and restarting the server computer but it is difficult to know if worked to fix the issue since it does not happen right away. Once I changed the setting in LMS to prevent playing music upon power up I haven't bothered too much with it. Every once in a while I will just notice the radios are on when I didn't start them and I will just turn them off. Without the 3am music blast it is not such a big deal anymore. I also turned down the backlights in both radios so that they will not be too much of a distraction when they do power on unexpectedly. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105528 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I have used synchronization but not in a great while. It seems that it is not a windows issue. Well, I have no other idea what could be causing it. I will leave it to you more technical people to figure it out if it is even possible. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105528 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio turns on by itself. Any idea why?
I am convinced this is occurring due to either a wireless interruption or some other event on the server computer. Our power is very stable and none of the electronics in our household experience this type of interruption yet my radios have been doing this for years now. Fortunately, setting the radios to remain paused at power on in LMS have stopped the radios from blasting music when this happens - eliminating a source of marital contention in our household. I am curious if the type of computer running the server has any bearing on this happening. I run my LMS on a Windows computer running Windows 10 now and I have always suspected that some of the background activities on Windows could trigger something like this and that maybe it wouldn't happen if I ran LMS on a Mac or linux machine. What are you guys running LMS on? It is possible that some wireless interruptions could be triggering it as well although I have changed my routers a few times and have still had this happen regardless. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105528 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio replacement - any ideas?
There are a limited number of devices that support Google Play and none that I can find that have the form factor of a Squeezebox radio. The Zettaly Avy or something similar like this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Android-pc-like7-touch-Android-Media-Station-a-tablet-docking-bluetooth-speaker-all-in-one-free/1430040363.html?spm=2114.10010108.17.6.YKLWBD is your best bet for something incorporating a screen that is capable of playing Google Play. Other speakers that support Google Play like Sonos or the LG Music Flow don't have screens. You could also roll your own with a dedicated android phone or tablet and some nice powered speakers like the Audioengine A2's. Finally, the chromecast audio plugged in to the line in of any powered speaker would handle google play perfectly but without metadata on the screen. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105239 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 4:47 am Arctic Monkeys blast
This has been happening to me sporadically for a while with my bathroom radio and I am now at the point where I either resolve it or my wife will throw out the radios. I run LMS 7.9 on a Windows 8.1 machine, will it make a difference if I switch to a raspberry pi running max2play or can I expect my radios to still play whenever they feel like it? I am a little hesitant as I don't know anything about linux but like I said I need to solve this or face a future of showering in silence. How do I configure my radios to "remain paused at power on"? Any help is greatly appreciated. ---- usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102902 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

My radios are not synced and I am not using the Music Walk With Me plugin. My bathroom radio will sometimes just turn itself on and resume the last thing it was playing at whatever volume it was set at. Since I usually listen to radio streams or a Slacker station there is always something for it to play. This has probably happened about 6-7 times over the last two years. This morning it happened that the radio in the bathroom started at about 6 am and my wife woke me up to turn it off and while I was fumbling for my phone to turn it off the bedside radio turned itself on and started playing as well. The stream from LMS to the chrome cast would be amazing. Right now I haven't found a suitable way to stream local music to the device.
