I have been adding the RSS feeds directly into Favorites, but This American Life was not working there. So the Podcasts plugin is working for most feeds now? My partner asked if I could play a recent episode of This American Life. A half an hour later I've given up, and am hanging my head in shame. If it matters, I run the server on a Synology NAS and use the *amazing* Material design skin on my Mac and iOS devices controlling the Squeezebox Touch. Sometimes I use iPeng. SO does that mean I can NOT use my standalone SB radio to get RBN archives podcast.. NO MORE thanks all I fear this is another outdated SSL library issue. I can curl the URLs, but Perl would fail to fetch it over https. And if you use http, the first response would be a redirect to https. No luck there. I'm even seeing this on my Mac, which is one macOS behind (10.14). This is still using IO::Socket::SSL 1.966. For security reasons, many podcasts and radio stations have been moving over to supplying a https URL and in some cases only the https URL works. This is just progress of technology. However as SB players are no longer supported, https support cannot be added to the player's firmware. If you wish to play a https URL then a local LMS is required. a local LMS can be a small Raspberry Pi based system about US$20-30. In the feed. many of the URLs for the podcast have "https" - SBR standalone cannot play https URLs - it needs local LMS. That said, the same podcast seems to play if the https is changed to http.
