[RBW] Re: big man 650b
My biggest problem has been too many options/free time (on vacation). i have a front and rear hub sitting here waiting to be built up so i'm thinking, well why not buy so dyads rather than the salsa cross 700c? @Jim, thanks for the advice. I've definitely been reading on the 650b site and your conversion looks fantastic (love the red tape in 2.0). I'm getting the specs for my frame from the builder this week to do the math. @Oliver thanks for posting pics of a big 63. I think it looks great! I want nylon pants that block the wind but are trim enough so they don't flutter in the wind, and will stay out of the way of the chain, preferablly with some sort of cinch around the ankle. I need pockets too. Wool would be great, but I know that's not going to happen. I'd buy the MUSA pants, but I can't do the blue crotch. Just too conspicuous. Ooooh, are those bicycling pants? Where did you get them? It's hard to Google on this without getting 50 pages of black spandex tights. [RBW] Visit to Rivendell
I had been looking forward to visiting RBWHQ for many weeks... I arrived in San Francisco after a few days of killer mountain biking in Colorado, and was on my way up to Healdsburg/Santa Rosa to stay with a friend and ride Annadale State Park. We first took a detour through Oakland out to Walnut Creek. We met Keven Mowen in the showroom, and he was a most gracious host. We test rode a few bikes... I rode a beautiful double-tubed Hillborne, a slightly smaller Hilsen, and (one of my favorites) a Betty Foy... (I may just have to get myself a Gomez)... There was one orange Riv T-shirt in the rack and it just happened to be a size 2X, which is my size. I walked out with the shirt, a bar of pine soap, and a green Brooks B17 that I picked up at will call from Rene Sterental (thanks, Rene, it's gonna look great on my Bomba!!!) My friend loved riding the Hilsen, and as we walked out of the showroom was already talking about selling various bikes/parts to fund a Hilsen of his own. Hey Keven... THANKS SO MUCH for making us feel welcome at Rivendell. It was SUCH a pleasure to see these bikes in person. [RBW] Re: Why I like you guys part deuce
you read the diatribe on planing on IBOB forum... downright nasty. ~Mike~ On Oct 12, 2:40 pm, Mike mjawn...@gmail.com wrote: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I've seen Riv-oriented people get fighting mad over the phrase carbon fiber. We all have our prejudices. Yeah, but this group never gets to the level of the Road Bike Review Forums. Folks over there can be down right mean. I feel it's never that way here. --mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
