[RBW] Re: Does your Brooks B17 look a little tilted and twisted from behind?
I would agree with Eric that it's probably good to check the clamps...since the saddle is pretty new. Or maybe this is just part of the variability of new leather saddles. Mine has a definite waver to it, but it's over 10 years old...and I have to figure that one butt cheek is stressing it more than the other! [RBW] Re: Does your Brooks B17 look a little tilted and twisted from behind?
It's normal. Brookses are rarely perfectly symmetrical to start with, and the shape changes as it breaks in. Mine tend to move to the left a bit over time..i think my left leg is a bit shorter than the right. Joe Bernard Vallejo, CA. [RBW] Seattle S24O group trip, could be awesome
Judging by the number of people who turned up to Grant's talk at Free Range, I'm thinking there are plenty of ya'll who'd be into a weekend camping trip. Now that the weather is somewhat predictable, I say we go for it. Any thoughts on dates and destinations? Fay Bainbridge is nice, and only about 6 miles from the ferry dock on the island. Plenty of other choices I'm sure. Let the planning begin! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. To reply to Jim D's comment: yes, he makes a career out of permanent peevishness -- not always without reason, given what appears to be the sorry state of modern Britain. But he is a true and dedicated cyclist who rides to get to places--don' think he owns a car--and who regrets the passing of Britain's earlier cycling culture. [RBW] Rivish Parts For Sale
A dead air conditioner, dying water heater, and a kid's college tuition have conspired to make me let go of some frames and parts I've been collecting and holding onto for bike building projects. My spouse somehow feels that cool indoor air and hot water are more important than my bicycle projects:) Before I put the stuff on fleabay, I thought I'd give fellow Riv Owner's Bunchers first crack at it. The prices I've listed include shipping to the continental U.S. (except where noted). I'm in Tucson, Arizona (so yeah, the AC is kinda essential). I also welcome local pickup. I can accept Paypal. Sorry about the length of the list. It was more than I thought. Gulp. I'm happy to email photos. Just shoot me an email with the item(s) you would like pictures of. *Framesets* 1986 Team Fuji Frameset 52cm. Immaculate condition (9.5/10), blue and yellow paint. Chrome fork crown. [RBW] Re: Atlantis triple - Phil BB spindle length
There is a post from the past on this list talking about bottom brackets and the Atlantis frame. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/rbw-owners-bunch/PLvfFqKpkFQ For what if 107mm was working for you going to 113mm will just move the chain-rings out. If you need the wider q factor it will be nice. If you like a lowish q factor leaving it at 107 is a good idea. One of the advantages of the Phil is adjustability. With the cups you can adjust the chainline by a few mm. [RBW] Atlantis triple - Phil BB spindle length
I upgrade the mighty Atlantis / Sugino triple as opportunity permits. I currently have the Riv recommended 107 Tange ($10 Craigslist) installed which has served me well daily the past few years. I now have the opportunity to pick up a new 113 Phil. I was almost certain that in past Riv readers Grant specified a 113 Phil. Of course I could not find that recommendation anywhere last night as I poured over past issues. Canvassing the website did not reveal guidance either. Does anyone recollect this recommendation? If this is true does anyone have a guess as to why the 3mm difference each side between manufacturers for the same bike?
