[RBW] ISO: Blue WoolyWarm Buttonup sz L, Can You Help Me Replace It???

2015-10-25 Thread Aaron Young
Hey gang,

Sad story here. Last week in Portland my car window was smashed and a
dirty, low-down, scuzzy, piece of... well you get the idea, thief stole my
backpack full of clothes, and my Riv Shop sack full of spooncarving tools
(a beloved Wetterlings 111 bought at Entmoot and some special knives among
many other things). The window repair alone was just over $400 (embedded
antenna in that one), and all told I lost more than $800 in gear, clothing,
bags, tools, etc. to the thief. Overall, about $1250 in losses.

I'm looking to replace a size L blue WoolyWarm Buttonup sweater. It was my
favorite sweater, and my sweater was still in like-new condition despite
wearing it all the time. Does anyone have a size L in blue in ButtonUp
style that you just can't wear and would like to sell or trade for Riv-like
stuff?

Please contact me off list if you think you can help me out.

Thanks,

Aaron Young
The Dalles, OR

[RBW] Veterans Day Leesburg Loop (2015)

2015-10-25 Thread Tony DeFilippo
I'd mentioned it to a couple people in person and over the board that I'm
reprising a Veterans Day Leesburg Loop after having a very successful ride
last year with basically the same plan. So if you are in the area, have
the time off and want to come out for a full day of mixed surface riding
with an easy going group hit me up here or direct. Here is the rough
agenda;

Time/Miles

0600/0 - Depart from Del Ray, Alexandria (intersection of Mount Vernon and
Commonwealth)
0645/7.6 - Pause for additional riders at Georgetown C Canal Towpath
trailhead
0800-0845/13 - Coffee Outside Brew up on the Olmstead Island overlook at
Great Falls (MD side)
1130ish/21.8 - Snack at the Whites Ferry Cafe
1230ish/11.5 - Lunch at Carolina Brothers Pit BBQ in Ashburn (off the W
trail)
1500ish/16.1 - Caboose Brewery in Vienna for some liquid second lunch and
delicious small plates
1700ish/15.1 - Back to Del Ray, Alexandria. Dinner at Los Tios for those
interested

Mileage Total - 85.1

Now all these 'ish' timesare really hard to predict but I figured I'd throw
them out in case people were interested in trying to meet up while the ride
was going on. I'll also say that with the same start time our merry band
didn't make it home last year till closer to 1730-1800... throw in a flat,
an extra cup of coffee or pint of beer and the schedule will shift!

You should notice that there is a high priority on this ride given to
remaining caffeinated, well fed and jovial

Pictures and a map from last year

I have more pics of my wife's Clementine but I can't get my posts thru the site
censors. Somebody needs to vouch for me or something?

And from what I was told a very different orange. Sounded really nice and I
was tempted--deeper, more like the old Rams, not as bright/clangy as the
prototype.

Keith I think the 59 is going to be perfect for you FYI the blue one is
more like the blue from the previous Rivs not dark

[RBW] Re: Clems have shipped!

2015-10-25 Thread El Sapo
I rode the proto at the shop and it was different. I think it had regular bosco
bars and a brooks seat. This one has a more upright ride. FUN! That's the
medium 52 It looks like a small bike to my eye, but it's not. The frame is
light compared to my 80's MTB's. This bike has a comfortable vibe that says
slow down and enjoy the ride.

Is the Clem the same blue as the Hillborne? They look the same to me but I
