[RBW] Clem Smith Jr with Alternate Handlebars? - Choco-moose
I'm liking the choco-moose bars on my 65, but that's coupled with a lay back seatpost to get more reach and better wheelies. It's a 27.2 Nitto lugged post with a shim, shimming due to the difficulty in finding a lay back post in Clem's somewhat odd 29.8 seatpost size. -Kai Vierstra (who's kidding about wheelies, but serious about shims) Brooklyn NY -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Howard, The Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus panniers have 42L capacity and are rear bags. They're big. I'm selling my brand new pair because they're too big for my needs. The Sport Packer Plus are smaller (30L; I own these, too), but still bigger than the Front Roller and FR Plus at 25L. The names are ridiculous and confusing. Small, medium, and large would be easier! [RBW] Re: New Hilsen in the Wissahickon
>From what I understand, it was and early Hilsen and was built by Waterford. I'm definitely going to noodle with the Ergon grips. I think I might have them oriented too vertically as you mentioned. As for comparisons to the Roadeo...let's see. The Roadeo is a really wonderful bike and is much more versatile than the write-up on Riv's site gives it credit for. It performed relatively well on the dirt or gravel trails with the Jack Browns it was shod with. But it's most definitely a road race bike. A comfortable one, but still a road race bike. It's lighter and jumpier...and handles exactly how that type of bike should. The Hilsen is more stable, more relaxed. And fits my riding style much better. It also handles a bit more confidently off-road (though I do have wider knobbies on the Hilsen vs. the Jack Browns on the Roadeo, so that has something to do with it). Hope that all made a modicum of sense. I'm been traveling all day and my brain feels like mush. Re: [RBW] The Liftatube fits me perfect
The Rosco Bubbe has two sets of bottle cage mounts and the Liftatube, so it's definitely possible to have two cages and a handle. [RBW] Re: Atlantis
Yes... there is definite magic to the bike. Mine is a 53 and set up very differently: Albastache bars, Tubus/Ortleib rear cargo system, battery LED commuter lights front and rear. Rides great. Totes the kitchen sink if necessary. Frame is drop-dead beautiful. Pleases the eye in every respect. I love the Clipper head tube badge.
