[RBW] FS - Nitto Rivendell Big Front Rack (34f) - New

2023-05-25 Thread Huston
Greetings,

For your consideration: a new Nitto 34f rack (a/k/a Rivendell Big Front
Rack). A beautiful yet sturdy rack. I purchased this one rack with the
intention of replacing two racks (a Nitto 32f and a Tubus Ergo) on an
Atlantis; however, between a previously installed front fender and light, I
opted to stay with the two rack setup.

Upon the closet of inspections, you might find some signs of installation
and removal, but this rack is new. Includes the p-clamps, bolts, and
"instructions" that came with the rack. Riv has a nice installation
video. Pics are available here

.

Price is $175.00. Included in that price is $20 for shipping. If shipping
exceeds $20, then the price is $175 plus shipping in excess of $20.

Thanks for your consideration.

2023-05-25 Thread Joe Bunik
Hello Riv Duos

https://photos.app.goo.gl/s46aN28MZNTMnq7M6

Passing along a nice wheel/hub combo I opted into for a rough-stuff
bike project, but plans have since shifted - this is a Phil cassette
hub for use with a 145mm OLN tandem (w/ NDS threading for drum or
adapters). Re-spacing is possible but would require axle replacement
from Phil.

Laced up to a 559 / 36h Sun Rhynolite rim, I'm willing to de-lace and
cover the shipping on just the hub for $200 (alternatively, $200+CONUS
shipping your side for the entire wheel / OBO - let's talk!)

Re: [RBW] Re: Dynamo Wiring inside the Fork and Frame?

2023-05-25 Thread christian poppell
Hey Matthew,

I’m replying on my phone so apologies in advance for any typos or non-standard
formatting.

Running two wires to the taillight from the dynamo is probably the best and
loner straightforward way to do it. It’s a closed system and easy to track down
any issues if they arise.

I’m not sure which model B light you have but you can certainly try grounding
one side of the dynamo and one side of light to the fork and frame
respectively. I’ve heard the anodizing on some higher quality cartridge bearing
headsets (Chris King, etc) can prevent the continuity between the fork and the
frame. In the past folks have suggested removing the anodization around the
neck of the headset cup to allow current to pass through. It’s easy to check
for continuity between frame and fork; set a multimeter to resistance (ohms)
and touch one probe to bare metal on the fork, and the other probe to bare
metal on the frame (eyelet or dropout works well). If the needle or number is
close or on zero you shouldn’t have a problem. If there’s no change in reading
then you don’t have continuity, probe around and start troubleshooting :)

> Splitting a single length of Velo Lumino wire into two and adding spade
> terminals would not work, right?

Not sure what you mean by the above. The Velo Lumino wire that I have is a
single strand. One of the headlight companies includes a two stranded 22ga wire
that can be split into single strands. The insulation on that wire is less
durable and larger in diameter making it difficult to pull through small holes.
One strand is black and the other is white, bare wire is copper. Is that the
wire you’re referring to?

The wire Velo Lumino sells is thin (22ga?) and has a tough but thin insulation
that is much smaller in diameter to hardware store wire or anything else I’ve
found. I find it easier to work with compared to the coaxial wire Schmidt uses
on their lights.

In the next few months I’ll be reconfiguring my lighting setup. I can snap some
photos and draw some diagrams if you’d like some more detailed information on
how it’s configured.

Hope that’s helpful!

Thanks for sharing this Patrick. I've long enjoyed reading BSNYC (I have a

These particular thoughts remind me that we choose our actions but often
not our reactions. Being more mindful and purposeful as I move through my

Cyclone, Paul stuff and Shimano 8 speed have sold.

Nitto rack and thumbies are pending.

XTR m960 price drop to $100. This is the beautiful polished rapid rise

Baggins Pannier Set price drop to $175. Make me an offer !

Swift Moxie Bag is sold.

Also have some steel Nitto Albatross bars and Nitto Mustache bars for $55

I've had some luck with clicking the picture icon (mountains), rather than
the paper clip to post photos. However, I can usually only post one or two
photos max into each post. If I try to post more photos in one posting, it
tells me my message is too long and to try again. I always prefer the
photos being here in the conversation, rather than a link to somewhere
else, so it would great to know how some people post a larger group of
photos here in one conversation post. I am using a MacBook pro usually,

When you say you create the link and "paste it" are you specifically saying

2023-05-25 Thread R. Alexis
Bike is looking good! Nice seeing the progress. You noted:

" -freak accident sheared off part of my right IRD shifter,"

What was broken? Shifter lever? Clamp?

Are you keeping the parts that came off the bike? If you get a different
frame you can move all the nice parts from this one and remount the old
ones back on this bike.

Thanks,
