[RBW] Re: Easiest way to transport Saluki on Southwest

2017-01-16 Thread Bill Ruprecht
I would use bike flights. i travel frequently and this is how my Riv
accompanies me. If you check it on the flight, TSA can open up and inspect
and my experience with this is they NEVER get it closed up properly. I
don't trust them.

Bike Flights uses FedEx and you can select a FedEx Office location to ship
it to "hold for pickup"

[RBW] Rivet Saddles

2015-10-27 Thread Bill Ruprecht
Another saddle to consider that is very similar in appearance is the Selle
Anatomica X series. I switched to it from a brooks and find it much more
comfortable. Kind of like a Hammock for your butt.

I've never riden on a Rivet, but the Selle Anatomica is worth tryining and they
have a 30 day comfort guarantee. Selleanatomica.com

[RBW] Re: WTT New Barlow Pass for New Jack Brown Green

2015-08-21 Thread Bill Ruprecht
mine have only been mounted for a week and only ridden once. I hope to put
some miles on em this w/e and see if they em-puffen some. What
disappoints me most is that on the Compass website they clearly state that
the tires are actual size and not just stated. I've written to the
Customer Service but no reply. I wonder what others have experienced about
their customer service.

Anyway, I will give them some more time to em-puffen. Love that word.

Will report back after some more miles ridden.

I have both them and the Jack Brown Greens on similar width rims and the

This works on both sides of the transaction as i wonder how someone would

Let me know how you guys usually deal with this.

Barlow Pass tires.

I ride a 28mm minimum tire and an 8 or 9 speed cassette..

Anybody got anything they're looking to get rid of before I have Rich build
me up one?

Please reply via private email. I'm new to this Group, i think my email is
visible to others, right?

Thanks,
Bill

[RBW] questions about buying /selling a bike on this group

2015-07-18 Thread Bill Ruprecht
Hi,

I am new to this group and am thinking of buying and selling some Riv bikes
in the near future. I have a questions:

How do you deal with the transaction securely? Do you just trust that the
person will ship the bike after you pay him/her? At least Ebay has
procedures in place.

This works on both sides of the transaction as i wonder how someone would
trust that i would ship after receiving his money.

Let me know how you guys usually deal with this.

Thanks,
Bill
