[RBW] Cork Grips, Amber Shellac Or Clear

2024-05-28 Thread Tommy Love
Looking for the pro tip before I go and mess up some raw cork grips. Is
the move to do amber shellac or clear? Also, they spin on the bar and I
could of course put some hair spray in there but the aftermath of stuck
cork might suck... incase there is yet another pro tip. appreciate it.

[RBW] Anyone Fender a Romulus?

2024-03-23 Thread Tommy Love
Looking to not buy multiple sized fenders and tires, never fendered a bike
before, hoping to receive some wisdom. Riv claimed fenders with tires as
wide as 35. SomaFabShop is running a sale this weekend and would like to
pick up some Honjos. If I were to go with 33 or 35 wide tires, would a
43mm or 45mm fender work? I read that 8mm wider than tire is the min,
10-12 is more ideal. Have Tektro 559 Long reach side pulls on. Here is
link to Riv description for sizes

Re: [RBW] Re: Thinking of replaceing the clem with the gus. Thoughts?

2024-03-09 Thread Tommy Love
Good points already noted above. Although I wouldnt say Susie is a lateral
move personally, but you were asking about the Gus (which does ride the
same as the Susie). main factors are 1) how big are you 2) what riding you
do 3)do you like to sit on top of the bike, or more in the bike. Clem you
sit more in the bike, Ive also noticed a size large Clem rides sorta
smaller than a 53 Susie, the height of BB makes the biggest difference. If
you ride trails, Gus will be an excellent upgrade, if you are cruising and
commuting, Id argue Clem might be slightly better. If you are doing a
little bit of both, maybe toss up? Then theres aesthetics, which do you
like more? I lean towards Susie and Gus as the fillet brazed detail and
overall shape is really great... but Im not mad at the Clem by any means.

I'm not quite sure how this happened, but the link to the photos in my
original are not of my bike. I usually use dropbox but linked a google
drive link and most likely this was user error, sorry for the confusion.
 Proper link below.

[RBW] FS; 48cm 2012 Sam Hillborne

2024-03-02 Thread Tommy Love
This Sam Hillborne is in incredible shape for it's age. Everything is in
perfect working condition and cosmetically, it is really nice. Frame is a
9 outta 10 (have added photos of the only meaningful blems on the frame),
all components in great shape, ready to ride. Geo attached in photos, but
quickly;
*C-T* = 19"
*C-C* = 18.5"
*Top tube* = 21.5"
*Stand over height* = 29.5"

$1800 complete, buyer pays for shipping. Located in Southern CA
Not preferred, but selling frameset only could also be a discussion.
Lastly, a trade could be an option as well. Size 53,54 Rivendell only.
Atlantis or older fun rivbike are most interesting to me.
