[RBW] WTT B68 for B67 (Brooks saddle)
Greetings. A while back I wanted to try a B67. I swapped a B17 for one (here on the lists) and after a while of trying it out I find I like the shape of the saddle but alas the noise of the springs bothers me somewhat. I really do not need springs so I would like to trade with someone here for a B68 (the sprngless version of the 67). The one I have is brown. I would prefer to exchange for a brown or honey 68, but black would be okay as well. Mine is in good to excellant condition. If felt to me a bit saggy, so I drilled 3 holes in each side of the saddle right under the logo and laced her up. I did a good job of this( IMO). I am looking for a trade of similar condition. Anyone out there like to swap evens? Best, Clyde Canter in Virginia -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] B67 wanted for trade
I'd like to try a B67. I have black and a honey B17 standard to trade. Both used, but nearly new to trade. I also have a few WTB Speed V's if anyone likes those. Would also consider buying straight out. Thanks, Clyde -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] 36t Hyperglide cog source?
Does anyone know of a source for them? My knees are begging me for this. My frugal nature has me wondering why not just buy a cog and convert the cassettes I already own. Additionally my herd runs 7 and 9 speed drive trains, so I'd like to do this for my 7 speed stuff too. I have seven speed spacers, but I would also need an additional shim to compensate for the thickness difference between the two cogs would I not? Anyone think of a reason I could not do thisOh I'd also need a longer B tension screw too wouldn't I. [RBW] Big Apples and Sams
Searched the archives and can't find anything conclusive. Anyone put 700 x 50 Big Apples on their first run 700c green, canti-equiped Hillborne? If so did it work? Any clearance left to speak of? I think max tire on the first Sams was 44mm and 45 on the later ones. (??) RBW web site shows pics of the BA;s with a caliper reading 44.55mm. [RBW] New (to me) Quickbeam
I promised myself no more bikes. In a moment of weakness this morning I bought myself a saaaweeet Quickbeam with a gorgeous custom paint job. It's a steel blue/grey metallic with a light grey barber pole stripe on the seat tube. Only thing is it has no head badge. Long shot.. would any of you fine folk have an unneeded one and be willing to sell it to a fellow RBW Owners bunch member??? [RBW] Which brakes for simpleone?
I seem to remember reading somewhere that there was a possiblity Simpleones might be produced for the extra long reach sidepulls instead of cantilievers. I've googled and gooogled and can't find anything to support this. Did I imagine/ dream it? Anyway I think it would be a good direction to go, or at least a good option. I'd really like one of these frames. Either canti or sidepull, but I'd opt for sidepull if available. What do ya'll think? [RBW] Green Ramboo touch up paint
Apologies if this has been discovered already. After misplacing my Testors, model car paint (so so match) a trip to the nearby Walgreens turned up this. http://www.sallyhansen.com/product.cfm?product=75shade=1596 It's a dead ringer for the green paint on my Ram. [RBW] Help with V brakes on Sam
Hello fellow Riv riders. I finished building my new Sam HIllborne this weekend and am very pleased with how he turned out. I put Albatross bars with barend shifters on him and MTB levers pulling V brakes (Shimano Deore). I don't have much experience with V brakes, but I'm fairly certain I have them set up properly. A break in the foul weather allowed me a brief test ride yesterday and they (brakes) worked flawlessly. The only thing is I have to run the adjusters in a tad to be able to extract the noodle from it's cradle in order to remove the wheel. Is this normal? I googled (v brake levers with quick release) and found these: http://www.tektro.com/02products/10ql.php The tops mounts won't clamp on the Alba, but the bottom set will, but they are listed as working with mini-V, or calipers. Is a mini-V different from a plain ole V? Any help greatly appreciated. Clyde Canter -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] WTT, WTB, Fs...sorry this is long
Hello fellow Riv riders. I need the following for an upcoming Sam Hilborne build. A Sugino XD variety triple crank170 or 175mm (48 or 46, 34, 24.) new or lightly used. A set (bikes worth) of good quality V brakes. New or lightly used. A pair of good road/ trail tires about 35-38mm width in 700c. Something similar to but other than Paselas, which I like but find the sidewalls too vulnerable to rock cuts. _ Some stuff I have that doesn't quite suit me that I need to get rid of that I can trade or sell outright. 2 Panaracer TServ Protex tires.700 x 25mmRed... very little use...100 miles or less, just enough to get them dirty. 2 Kenda Krisps 26 x 2lightly used. 2 Ritchey speed max...26 x 2...wire version...some use...lots of life left. 2 Specialized Ground Control...26 x 2 maybe 2 1/2...these came on a set of used rims I bought...they appear to be lightly used...wire bead.. black wall .have bar type lugs on them. I'm told these were popular and no longer produced. 2 Pasela TGs in 28mm.mounted and ridded once. A Shimano Deore LX crank/ BB combo...the hollow tech type. has 48/36/24 rings and about 3k miles use. It came on a bike I purchased new in 2005. I seem to remember the specs saying it was compatible for 68 to 73mm shells, but I'm not sure I have the parts for 73mmthe bike had a 68 mm shell. Condition...8-9 out of 10. A bar-stem-levers- grips combo using these bars. http://aebike.com/product/dimension-25.4-70mm-riser-bar-50deg-sweep-silver-sku-hb2042-qc30.htm 1 quill stem ,black, says Mongoose on it. 2 Tektro brake levers...all black for Canti brakes. Cork grips glued on and wrapped in black Terrostar tape . Found these too wide for my taste so 1-2 have been lopped off the width. Would be good for a upright beater project. Can take picture if any interest. Also have one of the bars unlopped as well. A set of Deore 3x9 STI flatbar shifters...black. Stems. 1 1/8 threadless. Ritchey Pro..17deg..135mm, 26mm, black. like new. Ritchey Comp...6 deg 90mm. 31.8mm black very well used but fully functional. Salsa Moto...115deg 90mm31.8mm black. well used but fully functional. 1 treadless Kalloy AS 6026 forged (silver) 17 deg 130mm for 26mm. new, unused. Mistakethought I was ordering 1 1/8. 1 threaded. 1 Cinelli...26.4..silver 10cmsome rust stains below insertion level. Handlebars. 2 Cinelli...26.4, one 42, the ohter 44. both silver and single groved. I would prefer trades for what Im looking for, but feel free to make offers for anything you are interested in, though I probably won't respond right away to offers to buy.
