[RBW] Bike Flights experience so far...pretty good
I have used them twice the past 4 or 5 weeks and have been very pleased and saved money. Both times they just had me enter all the info online, print a shipping label and attach to box, and then drop off at my nearest FedEx center. They scanned the label, gave me a receipt with tracking number and it was on the way. I will be using them again for future bike shipments. One of the packages was a wheelset. This gets me to wondering, does it have to be a bike or bike part to ship via Bike Flights. I sold a frame to a gentleman in Tuscon and shipped it via Bikeflights, had a good experience. I would use them again. It was much less expensive than taking it to FedEx myself. I would consider using them for non-bike parts if I had something too big to go via USPS. Many of you noticed I had 5 bikes up for sale. I had wanted to sell 2, and ended up selling 3. One of the three was a local sale, which is always great. The other two I was kind of dreading because of shipping costs. But, I had seen a couple people mention BikeFlights. It's basically a website that allows me to schedule shipping a bike. I can declare a value for insurance, specify pick-up or drop-off, specify signature policy on the other end. It was super easy. Only at the end did I realize that the shipper is FedEx. I dropped off a Bombadil frameset with a few other parts in the box. Insured for $1400 and going FedEx Ground from California to New York State, it was $54. I think that's pretty great considering the high price horror stories I'd heard. BikeFlights.com is the site. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
