[RBW] Re: In Praise of Get Around Bars
Good thread you resurrected Mitchel Fulfer. Birdman Issac's StumpJumper with 2.5's is awesome. I have 2.3" on my "SC" of similar year (mine: '84) and didn't think 2.5" would fit. I think the ET's small tread/knobs help. I'll keep an eye out. I assume Captain Conway's bars sold quick. That 2020 price looks mighty nice now! :) -Matthew P, San Diego - Kumeyaay Territory On Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:00:54 PM UTC-7 mitchel...@gmail.com wrote: > hey! if you are ever looking to sell this frame- id buy! > > On Monday, March 30, 2020 at 9:56:06 PM UTC-7 Birdman wrote: > >> Good catch, Sam. The drawback of the Jitensha bars is that the grip area is relatively short and so you can't use brake levers with standard length grips. Thanks for the info -- comparing them on whatbars it looks like the Jitenshas are narrower and have more sweep back actually. The Get Arounds do seem more fun/adventurey/MTB-suitable with a whole 120mm in extra width, and I could just keep my old 25.4 stem. Might have to give them a shot! Hi Sam, I had Jitensha bars on my Quickbeam several years ago. It’s been so long that i can’t make a direct comparison, other than to say that The Get Around Bars or more comfortable than I remember the Jitensha bars feeling. Others may chime in with a more recent point of reference. The GABs have more sweep and rise, whereas the Jitenshas were flat, I believe. [RBW] Re: In Praise of Get Around Bars
I'm thinking of converting a vintage road bike from drops to a flat bar. Tried out my friend's Miyata 210 set up with Nitto Jitensha bars and they felt really nice. These look great too though! Any thoughts on how the Get Around bars compare to the Jitenshas? [RBW] Re: In Praise of Get Around Bars
I have gotten a few inquiries about my offer so here is the information: Yes, they are silver. I only road these for a few months last summer but there are some scratches in the 'skid proof' coating from other handlebars rubbing against them in my garage and some shop wear from storage but the were never dropped or crashed. How is $60 shipped net to me in the CONUS but local sales in Chicago preferred and with a $10 discount!? Please PM if interested. And it was not my intention to derail this into a FS thread so my apologies to the original author. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. I'm in the minority. I had get around bars mated to a Nitto hi-riser stem on my quickbeam and I did not like them. [RBW] Re: In Praise of Get Around Bars
I have both the Wavie and Getaround bar. The getaround is really fun for mountian biking and adventurous around town ridding. The Wavie bar is also great at those tasks but also much more comfortable on long rides since it has a little more back sweep and a nice forward hand position. That’s how they work for me, love them both. On Friday, March 27, 2020 at 11:09:25 AM UTC-7, Birdman wrote: > > Hey Bunch, > > I recently built up the world’s largest(?)
