[RBW] Re: Yes, the Sam Hillborne can be Sporty Too
Yes, we really like the silver SRAM road group as well ... but they are becoming really hard to find. Likewise, Shimano is slowly fading to a Gray color with their comparable Ultegra 6700 series. We're snapping up the 6600 series where we can. To answer Patrick's question, the friction shifting was the customer's request. We looked at the black SRAM bar-ends (which are indexed for the rear), but thought the more classic look and feel was more appropriate to the customer's liking. [RBW] Re: Yes, the Sam Hillborne can be Sporty Too
I'm a big fan of SRAM's road groups, and I love the 2008 Rival parts in silver. I really wish that they hadn't switched to black / carbon in 2009. I think a pair of NOS silver Rival brifters would have been great on this bike. But you also could have used SRAM's non-series TT barcons. They're black, but I don't think they would have looked too shabby. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. since i am all about smooth paved roads and nothing heavier than either a small trunk bag or small saddle bag, i do indeed admire that build. nice bike. and oh the sin of those Vbrakes. ok I give up ... what is the unusual thing about the drivetrain... I'm just not up on SRAM. very nice build ('cept the brakes) and it's mostly non Shimano too ( except hubs I know, I know silver hubs are hard to find in 135mm except big $$ Mike On Mar 1, 7:22 pm, eflayer eddie.fla...@att.net wrote: since i am all about smooth paved roads and nothing heavier than either a small trunk bag or small saddle bag, i do indeed admire that build. nice bike. and oh the sin of those Vbrakes.
