[RBW] Rivendell tandem builds
I really can't wait for our large sage tandem with Paul components levers and brakes (motolites and a klamper), compass tires, son lighting, choco bars, Honjo fenders, and duel sprung brooks saddles. Still thinking about gearing but most likely friction 2 x 10 Gonna be rad this summer on some VT dirt and a little third 3 year old rider towed behind. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Rivendell tandem builds
Can't wait to see the builds. Every time I read about the HHH I have to remind myself that my Burley tandem is more than sufficient for the limited tandem riding my wife and I do... But it's still tempting especially the promise of fat tires... I'm going to swap out the current mustache bars for a Jones Loop this season as well as I'm wanting to mount the front kid seat and make it a 'triple'. [RBW] Rivendell tandem builds
Orange small frame, silver cranks w/ Phil Wood BBs, MKS sneaker pedals, Rich built wheels,- 40 spoke w/ Phil Wood rear, SON front dynohub, Paul skewers (yes you can get a 145), Paul brakes - cantilever front, touring cantilever rear, Klamper disc, Sun XCD rear derailleur (only polished silver rear that I know), IRD Alpina front derailleur, 12-34 9 spd cassette, Wipperman SS 9 spd chains, VO Nitto/Fairweather Bullmoose front handlebars. All ordered, some delivered. Waiting to see what tires Rivendell offers - I will go fat as possible. Not sure on shifters and brake levers yet but they will be silver in color. Not sure on fenders till I see the tire choices - I have very wide SS Berthouds over the 50 mm Big Bens on my Bombadil, but I don't think they would cover 60s. Not a Clem style build. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Rivendell tandem question
Hi. I read with interest the recent blug post about forward movement on the Rivendell tandem project. Grant invited people to email him if they wanted to be added to a list of interested parties, but he did not give his email address. Joe Appaloosa (new tourish bike that splits that’ll be offered complete and with a fancy new bar and some other stuff. Sounds like couplers to me. Lot of tidbits on that post... I'm excited to see what a Riv tandem looks like. And a coupled, long chain stay tourer also sounds like a neat bike. Re: [RBW] Rivendell Tandem (30 of them, actually) in about one year.
Just speculating of course, but I took that as a typo for what should have read: *Next year also, by internal popular vote, each of these models will come in one color only:* *Sam Hillborne* *Cheviot* *Clem H* *Clem L* *Joe Appaloosa (new tourish bike that splits *[the difference, functionally, between the first and last in the above list of models)]* that’ll be offered complete and with a fancy new bar and some other stuff.* Given what they've mentioned as the target price for the Joe Appaloosa completes, and the fact that any buyer call always ADD couplers but can never patch a frame back together after the fact, I'd be pretty surprised if it came stock with them installed. Unless... ...Wonder what a double-triangle frame would look like with a second tube installed parallel to the *seat* tube. That's just the kind of craziness I could believe might come from Rivendell. It would sure solve the expensive shipping issue. ;-) On Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 7:57:40 PM UTC-6, Wayne Naha wrote: Joe Appaloosa (new tourish bike that splits that’ll be offered complete and with a fancy new bar and some other stuff.
