Re: [RBW] Roadeo specimens?

2013-01-25 Thread nawrock

This is not a stock color but was painted at DD based on the colors of Marks
custom cross bike. When I first saw pics of Marks bike I was taken back by the
colors and ordered my Rodeo with those colors. Right after I got it Riv came
out with the same color scheme on some of its other bikes.

These were taken soon after I got the bike, the banana bag has been replaced
with a canvas small Kevins bag.
Great bike, True temper platinum OX frame, reynolds fork, made in the USA at
Waterford.

Hi. Do any list members have Roadeos that they're riding now? I'm especially
interested in seeing a picture of the stock white/blue model. There is a
blue/white frame on the Riv site but not one that's built up.
Thanks,

I like blue, so that's the color I'd get.
One thing confusing about the description on the Rivsite is where it says you
can get it red, or blue, or anything else that matches cream.
If opting for the latter, is there a custom paint charge? Or not? Doesn't say.

It says:
Graphical Other Optionals

White with red accents.
White with blue accents
Any color that goes well with cream, with cream accents. That rules out white
and cream, but not much else.

Any of these color options is available with a threaded or threadless fork,
same price.

Same price regardless of color? Or same price for threaded/threadless?
Anyone know?

No custom paint charge on the Roadeo. I'm inverting the white red
pattern and going for a dark red with cream headbadge and accents.

Toshi is right. Any Riv model that is built to order gives you some
no-charge color latitude. The two main exceptions to that are: They can
veto it if they hate your color choices and they can upcharge you if the
paintjob you want is a more expensive paint job than the one they normally
would have done. Color substitutions don't cost anything, for the most
part.

Toshi,
Your information differs from what Mark emailed me. He said there would be
a $150 upcharge for Rambouillet orange. Perhaps other non-stock colors
don't involve an extra charge. I will ask.

That is a great choice of color Toshi.
One of the most beautiful to my eye customs that I have seen at Rivendell (I
used to live nearby) was a dark red custom. When I asked what color red that
was the answer was ox blood red. That was years ago and I have not forgotten
it. When (not if) my custom frame gets ordered that color will be in my top 3
choices.

2013-01-25 Thread sancruz
I've been thinking about picking up a Roadeo lately, so I called Rivendell
yesterday and spoke with Dave. What I got from the conversation was that
you can choose any Rivendell stock color scheme, from any model, with the
cream accents.r. Any other custom color you dream up would be an
up-charge. However, I realized i didn't get clarification on whether the
stock color scheme could be from a previous model, like the gray red Hunq
(now green).

I just ordered a Roadeo in Ram Orange and it was a hundred buck
upcharge. Marc said the white with blue or red accents were the stock
colors. Some colors were more though, depending on what you wanted.
