I have been looking at them. Bruce Gordon has a nifty package that includes
the pedals and a stainless steel or titanium toe clip. But a pair costs
$250.

the Ti? It seems like an awesome combination, but I'd rather not make
 my good riding shoes gnarly...

Also, if anyone who's got these pedals could post the dimensions of
them that'd be great. I got expensive Tiogas once and couldn't stand
them because of the tiny size after a while.

No photos at the moment and my camera battery is dead. At rest the

  beyond perpendicular.

If you do not mind dirty shoes (and do not mind paying a whole heck of
a lot more money) the Ti BG clips are lighter than the stainless
steel. I have a set and with them on at rest the pedal is almost
  perpendicular.

I actually prefer when the tab is angled a bit forward (and did not
like my shoes with half clip marks on them) so I put the Ti clips in a
box somewhere and now use the BG steel clips. (With luck some weight
weenie just read this sentence and dropped the computer)

When your foot is removed, do the pedals flip upside down completely,

RE: [RBW] Re: Has anyone tried White Industries Urban Pedal?

2010-06-29 Thread Allingham II, Thomas J
Here's a pic of the Whites with the BG steel clips on my Quickbeam:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542...@n04/4411496143/sizes/l/in/photostream/ .
I found the BG clips so large (leaving my foot so far forward on the pedal)
that I had very significant toe clip overlap, so I took the clips off. But
with the clips off I didn't like the Whites as much, so I'm now using Tioga
Spyder pedals that Riv used to sell, which I like better than the Whites for
this bike.

If no one else does in the meantime, I will send the pedal dimensions tonight.
The Whites are not tiny by any standard.

2010-06-29 Thread Bruce Gordon
Perhaps you should try a smaller size toe clip???
The White pedals extend forward from the pedal spindle about 3/8 to 1/2
further than a traditional old Campagnolo Pedal.

I run White Pedals and my strapless clips on my city bikes - there is no
easier combination to get in and out of than that set up.

You might want to check out Bruce Gordon's site. He has a stainless steel

Hey Jeff,

How do the White Industry pedals compare to the Lyotards, width-wise?
Thanks,

more than $195 for these pedals.

Also, last night I put some Lyotard Marcel Berthets on my girlfriend's
Bleriot. This is the pedal that WI knocks off so beautifully. It's
all about that massive, curving, art-deco kick tab.

I'm thinking about getting a pair of Dromartis, the type without
cleats, to send the whole interface way over the top. But for around
town I'll just ride in Birks and enjoy toeing that sexy tab.
