Perhaps you should try a smaller size toe clip??? The White pedals extend forward from the pedal spindle about 3/8" to 1/2" further than a traditional old Campagnolo Pedal.
I run White Pedals and my strapless clips on my city bikes - there is no easier combination to get in and out of than that set up.
