Re: [RBW] Re: Christmas Rivendells
I have thoroughly enjoyed all these tales! I’m in MN surrounded by my very large family and have been slow to read and respond to any of these stories, but wow! Roberta, I love your story. My absolute favorite stories are the ones where someone sets a goal, works to it, accomplishes it, and then cherishes the outcome. I think that we are often looking for the next best thing instead of enjoying what we’ve got/been blessed with, so stories like Roberta’s are so refreshing. I’m so sorry the white bike got stolen after you earned it and had a 15 year relationship with it. And I’m REALLY glad you’ve got a lovely Joe App and a Homer that you now get to ride to your heart’s content. Here is a 51 second clip of an elderly lady treasuring and riding her trusty, creaky old bicycle in her 90s. To be out riding in my 90s and having a mixte that I treasure and trust and ride exclusively - I aspire to be her! https://youtu.be/1Kk0weQwG8M Sent from my iPad > On Dec 24, 2019, at 7:06 PM, Roberta wrote: > > > So many great stories here! [RBW] Re: 2020 Goals
Great idea for a post! Here are my cycling goals for the upcoming year and beyond. Spend more time riding with friends. I too often ride alone. Make this the year that I finally get a regular coffee outside meet up off the ground. Do more off road riding. I have a new Clem that I am building as a hilliebike Learn the art of wheel building. I have the parts and will start this project soon. Get involved in bicycle advocacy in my community. Complete a week long bike tour this summer. Maybe across my state for the third time or even the GAP trail which would be my first. [RBW] 2020 Goals
Do short brisk rides before my work from home days, and lose the ten pounds I gained back when I got the WFH option. Seven mile fixed gear rides first thing in the morning seems to work for me. Drink less beer and cider. The other half of that equation. Sell or ride the modern hardtail. [RBW] Re: My Clem Build
Hi Max, I have he 52cm size frame, the stand over with the 650x48 Panaracer Gravel Kings is approximately 31 5/8” at center of the top tube. The larger G-ones will bring it up another 1/2” or so. My stand over is 33”. The frame fits larger than the 52cm stock size leads on if you get lost in the number. The Schwalbe 2.35 G-One Speed tires are rather light for their size. I run them on my NFE without issue, but the NFE is low trail and doesn’t have wheel flop. The Clem is very neutral in handling and while I done have more than a few miles on it I didn’t notice sluggish steering or wheel flopping tendencies. The 2.35’s tubeless will be a nice riding bike. Merry Xmas to all. Regardless of the particular bike I believe we can all hopefully agree what true gifts bikes are for any who see their value and potential (young or old). May everyone have many happy healthy safe rides ahead in 2020.
