Re: [RE-wrenches] Honda EU2000i output V adjustment

2019-09-23 Thread Darryl Thayer
Can you use a buck boost transformer? My old memory says 8% or 16% buck or
boost depending upon connection
And the buck-boost only handles 20% of the energy such that a 400 VA is
all that is required for 2kVA.

No, this is not adjustable. Bear in mind these are not like standard generators
where you can adjust the AVR/RPM. These are inverter/generators. I have had
instances of bad inverter boards causing low voltage. That's a repair, not an
adjustment.

Re: [RE-wrenches] seeking PV mounting advice to Shipping Container for Off-grid

2019-09-23 Thread Chris Mason
I have a bunch of containers, I put solar on a couple. I would weld tabs
onto the container so as to avoid penetrations. The worst thing about
containers is they leak, so holes in the top are a problem. In fact, I
would weld on tabs, put galvanized stringers cross at an angle, put
galvanized purloins along the length of the container, put galvanized
corrugated sheeting on the purloins and the racking of your choice on top.
That way the container roof won't rust and leak, you have your angle, and
the container will be cooler.

[RE-wrenches] I need a 1kW 120Vac Inverter

2019-09-23 Thread peter...@pobox.com

Back in the day, I decommissioned a number (15?) of AES 1000 inverters. I actually discovered a flaw in the DC input circuit, that I found a fix for, and I was able to keep a few more going for many years.I have a "luggable" 900Wdc off-grid system" that I used to take on the road for demos: 5 ea Tata 180s, 1 ea Blue Sky CC, 2 ea 104 Ah AGM batteries and a Xantrex 1 kWac inverter. Well I haven't demoed the system for years now and I would like to convert it to a grid tied-system, So I was thinking of finding a working AES 100. Tump May mentioned a client in Maine that had three that were decommissioned -- working -- and I contacted him, but he wasn't all that motivated to ship two of them for a modest fee.So my question is, "Are there any other folks with these AES 1000s lying around?" I am willing to pay freight and packaging and pay someone $100 for the trouble.Or is there a 1kW 120 Vac grid tied inverter on the market?- PeterPeter T. The 200PLC was not an Enersys battery, and is no longer available, the
upcoming 200HLC will be the Enersys replacement for the 200PLC.

[RE-wrenches] seeking PV mounting advice to Shipping Container for Off-grid

2019-09-23 Thread Chris Schaefer
G'Day All,

I'm looking for anyone with advice that has mounted PV to a
shipping container roof with minimal to no roof penetrations. The container
will not be required to be transported with PV attached, only the racking
and only one time to project site. They will not be mounted flat but prefer
a 35 degree angle. I was thinking of Unirac's ULA series as they use to
have an adjustable leg. I'm not only seeking racking brands but also any,
"if I ever did this again I would..." advice.

Thanks,
Christopher-
