Re: [reiserfs-list] errors after the reiserfsck --rebuild-tree ...
Hi, i get some more errors, I didn't mention in the first mail: [...] shrink_id_map: objectid map shrinked: used 4096,5 blocks [...] grow_id_map: objectid map expanded: used 5120. 5 blocks [...] As I mentioned in the first mail, all this happens after reiserfsck --rebuild-tree. Any hints??? Hi Dirk! Dirk Mueller wrote: they're not errors, just debug output. Ignore it. I don`t know why it is still printed, its so confusing.. And what about bad_stat_data: 3763 is shared by at least two files I have a fileserver down for days now and I am getting in trouble... That's why I started reiserfsck before I got the mail that I should use the log option to collect information for the list. I just remounted the fs, I hope that the bad_stat_data isn't a serious error? Thank You, CU, Lars.

On Die, 12 Jun 2001, root wrote: bad_stat_data: 3763 is shared by at least two files shared data never sounds nice. Which version of reiserfsck did you use ? You could try finding out which files are affected and simply copy and then delete them. Probably the corruption should be solved then (recheck with --check!). Otherwise, you have to wait for an answer from the experts (i.e. not me) Dirk

Hi Ed! Ed Tomlinson wrote: You might want to try ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/reiserfsprogs/pre/reiserfsprogs-3.x.0k-pre8.tar.gz I did, but it didn't help. reiserfsck -o told me that there were 665 errors that could be fixed with --fix-fixable, but -o -x just showed the errors, without any changes... Thanks, CU, Lars.

Hi! I did a reiserfsck --rebuild-tree, and it didn't give me errors. If I do a simple (read-only) reiserfsck on the repaired partition, I get the following: Checking S+tree... [...] bad_stat_data: 3763 is shared by at least two files I get a couple of these errors, so the fs still doesn't seam to be clean. Does this mean that reiserfsck can't repair the fs? Thank You, CU, Lars. Hi, sorry for delay, some problems with my computer. shared files are cured with -o option with --rebuild-tree. P.S. Get the last progs from ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/reiserfsprogs/pre/ Thanks, Vitaly Fertman

Hi Vitaly! Vitaly Fertman wrote: Hi, sorry for delay, some problems with my computer. shared files are cured with -o option with --rebuild-tree. No joke? ;-) I did --rebuild-tree 2 times and -x -o one time, -x many times... but never combined --rebuild-tree with anything... I think the -o option needs some documentation in the manpages, as -o without anything tells me that errors can be fixed with --fix-fixable - nothing about --rebuild-tree. Now I will try how to start reiserfsck from the secure shell... I don't want to be online all the night, but rebuilding the 320GB takes a long time... and reiserfsck always asks me to type Yes, so nohup has no chance... Thank You, CU, Lars. I will tell you if I have success... if not, I won't have time to write anything for a while ;-) As reiserfsck tells me: This program is for the desperate only P.S. Get the last progs from ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/reiserfsprogs/pre/ I have got kpre8.
