RE: [Repeater-Builder] MASTR II
Sensitivity? HI Vern, Look in the front end helical / casting area where the receive coax connects to an RCA jack. There is a void area where the GE preamp goes. If you see the coax going to a small 1 ½ inch square-ish board with a tuning slug and see a short coax then going to the front end helicals, you have a preamp. Look at the pictures in the LBI for your radio and it will make sense. RE: [Repeater-Builder] Mastr II Station Power Connections
There will be 4 connectors on the back plane of the control shelf. Just behind the 10volt regulator card. Off those 4 connections is the wire harness going to the exciter and receiver and should be 2 red and black wires larger than most in the loom, those are the ones that go to the power supply. Use the diagram and decipher which of those plugs your wires come out of if you don't find them loose and cut off. Sorry, don't have a diagram here at work to point you. I hate when folks cut that end off instead of just unplugging it. If I caught somebody doing that I'd cut off all their extension cords. 73 Don Kirchner W5DK From: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John Sent: Friday, September 21, 2007 5:52 AM To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Mastr II Station Power Connections Hello Group, I just picked up 2 Mastr II VHF Stations minus the power supplies. When I connect the big Red and Black power leads to the PA to 13.8 volts, no power reaches the rest of the station. The schematic in the manual shows a cable from the power supply going to the backplane or motherboard, but I do not have it. There is a 15 pin connector at the top left of the rear Chassis (not motherboard) with nothing connected to it, but I don't see any number reference, so I don't know what would connect to it. Can someone give me help here?? Thanks. 73, John, K9KA
RE: [Repeater-Builder] GE MLS To Controller
Eric, Randy and all, I had scanned a near perfect MLS LBI that had notes for connections when used for a link radio. I forwarded them to John N5NWC and he sent them to Kevin. I think I had sent you a copy also Eric. I'll resend them and to you also Randy if you send me an address. Mycall at mycall dot com for me. One note on the MLS, when you lose power they don't come back on automatically, that lbi has a mod (short) noted that powers it back up for you. 73, Don Kirchner- W5DK From: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Eric Lemmon Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2007 7:35 AM To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [Repeater-Builder] GE MLS To Controller Randy, Although the MLS is nice radio, the fact that it is programmed with a PROM makes it a bit inconvenient to use. The rear connector pinout is on page 14 of 16 (LBI page 10) in LBI-31764A, available here: www.repeater-builder.com/ge/lbi-library/lbi-31764a.pdf All of the MLS (aka MLS I) LBIs are available in the LBI Master Index, although some are of poor quality due to being reproduced from microfiche. Any readers having clean and complete hard copies of any MLS LBIs that they will lend for high-res scanning, please contact me directly at mycall at verizon dot net. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY -Original Message- From: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com mailto:Repeater-Builder%40yahoogroups.com [mailto:Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com mailto:Repeater-Builder%40yahoogroups.com ] On Behalf Of Randy Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2007 4:40 AM To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com mailto:Repeater-Builder%40yahoogroups.com Subject: [Repeater-Builder] GE MLS To Controller Hi Group anyone using a GE MLS as a link radio or anything else repeater related I need a pinout of the radio to a controller.
