Re: [Repeater-Builder] Advice on Business Band repeater
GROL is a Boat Airplane Radio license, but makes a good resume' thing for some employers and a Lifetime license. maybe you may have to fix the mike on one of those radios or install it or write off a OK signature for FCC compliance. What the hey those who don't know what a FCC rule book is to the non tech people you just impressed you know something thats all. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Advice on Business Band repeater
NO. Type acceptance has nothing to do with how someone built the system on what license the tech had. BTW - the GROL is not required for a tech to work on part 90 or 95 systems. -- Original Message -- Received: Thu, 23 Dec 2004 11:05:05 PM CST From: Benjamin Naber [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Repeater-Builder] Advice on Business Band repeater If a guy were to have a GROL license and he built his own repeater to meet type acceptance(or close to), would it be classified as being so? ~Benjamin, KB9LFZ --- KI4AWK [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I am a ham who is contemplating building a business-band repeater. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Advice on Business Band repeater
John The same type acceptance rules that you mention for GMRS also apply to a part 90 repeater. Home built repeaters do not carry a type acceptance for part 90. The only service that can use equipment that is not type accepted is the amateur radio service and possibly the federal services such as military, and the three letter agencies. From CFR 1, 1102 The fees appear to be: Fee Payment type ActionFCC Form No. amount code Address 6. Land Mobile PMRS a. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Advice on Business Band repeater
A farm is a business. If it's a family farm, the entire family can be considered employees. Besides, it doesn't take much to get a business license. There are even public safety entities on the biz band (FDs and EMS services are considered businesses, too). The main cost will be for coordination. You will have to contact PCIA for a coordinated pair. The actual license fee is by comparison small. Joe M.
